Work has always been an option for Tony. Even when Pepper showed him the good people the destruction of his family company could destroy all it did was give him an idea about responsibility and why it was important. He knew what his genius could do and had known since he was pushed into building and designing more and more and bigger and bigger. Some kids played with legos. He and his dad played with the world. Little wonder when he discovered "slack" he'd become addicted to it. If he got a taste of life he never, ever stopped at just the one bite.

Now he works for his life, and he realizes up to this point, it's been a very useless life. All his genius....all his drive...it's been for the attention. No matter how it gets spun in the papers, it has been all about him. That's why he's going to get Yinsin out of here and then go save the world. If he lives, he lives, but how does that Horace Mann quote go? Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity. Tony has never had shame a day in his goddamn life and he isn't going to collect some as a dead man walking.
