MJ loved getting ready for the holidays. More importantly, she loved decorating for the holidays. Especially with her husband. They'd gotten the tree the other day, and were in the process of decorating and putting up decorations around their apartment. MJ even had cookies baking in the oven. Okay. The cookies were just frozen, and not made from scratch, but it counted for something.
Mary Jane wore a Santa hat. Music was playing, and Peter had the whole day off. It was perfect. She couldn't stop smiling.
"Did you finish untangling the lights yet, honey?"
|
"You'd think these things would be easier to figure out. I mean, I deal with webs, lights shouldn't get the better of me," Peter says from his position standing on the celing. He'd webbed the untangled bits of the lights to the walls to keep them untangled but he wasn't getting to far.
"Hey MJ, do you remember if last year we thought it'd be a brilliant idea to tie the lights up to pack them? Because that's the only explanation I can think of for this right now..."
Mary Jane laughed, rolling her eyes. "I think your brilliant idea decided to backfire on you. Christmas lights always get tangled. I think that's their main purpose. Aside from making everything look festive."
As he's about to respond, some of the tangled lights in question wrap around one of his legs and cause him to almost trip while hanging off the ceiling. "Whoa-okay...their main purpose is to make things look festive but make you do your seasonal bah humbugs first," Peter says while hanging off the ceiling from just his fingertips. Even spiders could get tripped up by evil christmas lights.
"Umm, a little help here honey?" Peter lifts his dangling leg where a mass of lights has decided to wrap around to make life difficult. Not his most dignified moment here.
MJ laughed. "I love decorating. You know that. It's just the lights. It's the second pain of Christmas. The first is finding the tree, but you know I love that."
She went to go help her husband, going untangle the lights from around his leg. "You're so cute when you're flustered."
"I know I know," he laughs as she gets the tangled lights off him. "And that's why I do the lights each year so that decorating stays fun for one of us," Peter jokes as he lets go of the ceiling and hops down. "But I'm totally not cute." He insists on that point but breaks the pout to smile and give her a thank you kiss for saving him from the pesky lights. "You did a great job with the tree search as always MJ, best one I've seen. Tell me when you want to put the topper up and we'll do some wall-crawling."
"You're adorable," MJ said. "You can't get around that. You're superpowers are wall-crawling and being cute." She smirked, returning his thank-you kiss. "I will. Once you finish the lights, and help me with these ornaments."
"Not adorable in the least," he half-pouted, though not minding obviously. "Lights are...a work in progress." There's a sheepish shrug, she can see the tangle for herself. "But ornaments I can do and-oh! Hold on, I found something among the decorations to put up." He rushes across the room to dig through one of the boxes of decorations then jump back onto the ceiling and crawls to the spot above her where he webs a sprig of mistletoe up and then stands up, feet still stuck to the ceiling, and just smiles. "Did you know we have mistletoe?"
MJ smirked. "I might have been the one to put in the box of decorations." She grinned, walking over to him. "Pucker up, tiger."
"Be gentle with me," he jokes and puckers up comically while still standing on the ceiling.
