It will be okay as soon as I have some money. But since I'm having precisely zero luck on the job front, we have no idea how long it will be. The documents and stuff should be recoverable; if not, well...

Small Flame will be fine; it runs without a buffer and has for awhile. Soldier's Boy... well, if worst comes to worst, Co-Author has the buffer logged. She or I can seek out the bits as necessary.

For now, I'm stuck on my grandparent's speakerless computer, so there won't be any work done on either regardless. *sigh* I am an utterly brilliant person.

TT_TT That's not good...

I really was concerned about the laptop, not the stories, I promise. It sucks to damage such a high $ item... I've been working with a half-dead Mac for ages now because it'd probably be cheaper to buy a new one instead of fixing the one that was damaged in a power surge. Photoshop and iTunes still work, but I can't minimize anything, the dock doesn't exist, DVDs can't be played. ::sigh::

Eh, psh. Laptop was an el cheapo Toshiba ($699) that I've been fighting with for ages on the subject of memory - IE I've nearly maxed it out.

70 gigs, and I've nearly maxed it out. *innocent whistle*

'Course, now you can get double that for less, so... yeah.

In other words, *I* was worried about the stories, not the computer. :D New computers can be bought or borrowed. The data is irreplaceable.
