So it wound up being a better deal to get a new computer.

I should be back in business come the fourth; the surprise that was meant for Thanksgiving shall arrive then.  Thanks for your patience with us.

I was told that the odds are pretty good. My computer is in the queue, at any rate. I was told taht they can retrieve it. The question is just if it can be slaved over to my new one, or if they'll need a sterile room and white suits.

If it's white suits... I'll take the loss, because I don't have $2000
