HISTORY:Ronan was born on Hallowe'en night 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts. His dad had left before he was born so it was up to his mom to raise him as a single mother. Laura did as well as she could and a few years later she met a new man, Sean Ryan, and they were married. Unfortunately things didn't remain happy for too long. Laura soon up and left,leaving Ronan with his stepfather when he was 10 years old.
Ronan was a curious child and asked lots of questions. Sean didn't like that.He wanted to be left alone, not to be bothered by a son who wasn't his own. He left Ronan to himself, and did his own thing. Ronan was pretty popular in school and had a good number of friends, doing well with his classes. He spent a lot of time with his friends because being at home was no fun.
When he was 15 he realised that he had feelings for one of his friends, one of his teammates on the soccer team and Ronan knew he was gay. It wasn't a phase or anything, it was who he was. And who he was was kissing his teammate hot and heavy when Sean came home. He was beyond furious and beat Ronan to within an inch of his life. Ronan left and spent the night at a friends. And when Sean when to work the next day, Ronan came back and packed up everything of his that he could, found all the spare money he could and disappeared.
He got as far as Washington D.C. when he got stuck. What could a 15 year old pretty boy do to get a long with no family, no way of making a living? He turned to the streets. Ronan never got into drugs or anything but there was a definitely liking of his 'type' by certain clientele. Before he knew it, he was making good money and living as well as he could. Not bad for someone his age.
When he turned16, Ronan got his license, and had saved enough for a car. The modest apartment he kept was bare aside from his 18 colour TV and his various art projects, and the minimal of furniture. He was well known in his circle of clients and 'friends'; it wasn't the ideal life but the moneywas good.
One of those he met was an older man, Stuart Kingsford. Though he said he had Ronan's best interest at heart, it wasn't true. Stuart introduced Ronan to a lifestyle that wasn’t very fitting of a 16-year-old. He was nothing but the worst influence on the young boy. But he thought this is what gay people did. He didn’t know that most of the gay community isn’t into drugs and being evil to each other; that there is a side of the gay community that actually takes care of each other. But false or not, the affection and kindness Ronan thought Stuart was giving him was something Ronan craved. So when he suggested Ronan get a fake ID to work in films, Ronan though hesitant,did it. He went by the name Sean Ryder
Ronan was something of a pretty boy, tall and muscular but lean. And the camera loved him. So did many in the business and he because quite the success. Suddenly he was quite often busy, either filming or doing promotional work for the film company. He liked filming, learning about the industry of making films. The sex was good but it was work, a job, though he did make friends with some of his repeat co-stars.
When Ronan turned 18,thoughts were moving away from the current job and lifestyle he had. He wanted more out of life. He'd like to direct at some point, but mostly he wanted to do graphic artwork. He took classes when he could and teachers said he had promise. But the reigns of his life weren't held by him. Stuart said if he didn't keep doing what he was being paid for,he would be in trouble because he had been too young when he'd started,that HE had lied. Ronan broke off everything to do with Stuart, and went public in the adult industry community. He was terrified but thensurprised by the kindness offered by many.
Ronan wasn't stupid and had saved more than he spent, so once again, he packed everything up, took his sizable savings and moved. Sean Ryder was gone and Ronan O'Mara was just a young kid starting new. Stuart's threats were long reaching so he moved down the coast as far as he could, to Jacksonville, Florida. He got an apartment and worked at the surf shop for a year to get residency and then he applied to Jacksonville University's graphic art and design program. Ronan was financially well off, and was investing very very well.
PERSONALITY: Ronan is very well spoken and can be out going with friends. But around strangers or in certain situations, he clams up quickly. He is 6 years clean and only drinks socially. He is bright, charming, and passionate about art and design. In the beginning he wanted to do advertising or architectural design but after moving to Florida, his passion has moved to designing surf and skate boards, gear, everything. Ronan has embraced Florida as his home and is very much a mix between beach bum and college student.
His apartment has very simple lines, all black leather furniture, glass table, one wall with wall to wall bookshelves. His bedroom in done in reds and oranges, very beach themed. He has one of the rooms converted to a studio for all his sketches and painting while his work space/office area in the living room sports a computer set-up that would make any geek spaz out with one alienware computer, a Dell 9300 lap top, and 22 inch monitors.
He mostly keeps to himself, hence taking the top penthouse in the building. Ronan doesn't like to make waves, mostly due to what he's been through and just wants to fly under the radar from everyone. His biggest fears are that Stuart will show up and cause problem, and also that far too many people will recognise who he is and/or did. Most of the time he can push it off as just mistaken identity but there could be a limit to how long that lasts. Ronan misses his mom but has resigned himself to never seeing her again.
Ronan doesn't do relationships. Part of the time he is self-deprecating, getting depressed that no one would care for him one they learned of his past,while the other part of him fears being taken advantage of again. He's become more of a strong independent person but he's sacrificed a lot to get there. Ronan still likes to have fun and is known to frequent some of the clubs around Jacksonville, but it is mostly to enjoy being with other people, dancing, and hanging out with his friends. Most of the time at present, Ronan is focused on his schoolwork and making sure he graduates on time.
