After graduating from Blue Ridge University with his degree in forestry and magical botany, Apple went hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains near campus. Normally, it would be fine because he knew the mountains as better than almost anyone but he was going on a vision quest. He didn't eat or drink for several days and when he finally came to, he realized he was completely lost. He walked around the mountains for days until finally he found where he was. It took some time and he had to really get himself turned around but finally he made his way out of the woods. Two days after getting out of the woods, his girlfriend told him that she was about three months pregnant. Apple panicked at first but he worked hard to get his own life back on track. Apple and May started renting an apartment in Corpus Christi, TX so they could be near their friends.

While May was pregnant, Apple began working on building a stable, eco-friendly, and sustainable cabin in the mountains near Corups Christi. It took a few years to be able to get the whole thing built but two children and a marriage later, they had their little cabin in the woods and they moved out when their daughter, Ellie was two and their son Ziggy had just been born. Apple, a forester, wild life photojournalist, and botanist spent most of his time in the woods anyways. Apple loves his strange little family.
