With the way Anya drove they made it to Big Nick's in almost no time, even with New York traffic. Parking was of course tricky, but Anya found a spot and they headed for big Nick's.
He does take a menu, not as familiar with it, but doesn't take very long to settle on something. "I'd say you should, but then we'd lose one thing that keeps helping drag you up here."
"One of the things," she corrected. "The parents expect regular visits and I have a new little brother to teach things to. There's shopping too. Charity events. Work."
He chuckles. "I said one thing, not /the/ one thing. Glad to hear we're not about to lose your sparkling presence for too long. Got to be a bad influence on the new Starkling, huh?"
"Of course," she said with a grin. "Someone has to teach him the ropes." She quirked an eyebrow. "Sparkling presence? Do I look like a Twilight vampire?"
"Something like that," Anya answered. Her mind was going in very bad and dirty places. Thankfully the waitress showed up and she focused on food. She ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the works and an order of large fries. A Diet Coke to wash it down.
It takes him a little longer to get to the same place. Doesn't come as naturally. He sees her expression, and it sets the wheels turning enough that it takes him an extra few seconds to realize the waitress is talking to him.
"Oh, uhm... the fried egg and bacon burger, fries and Coke."
"Then I propose a quest. You can use your fancy computer to make a list of all the burger places in the area that are above fast food grade, and we'll hit a couple every time you're up, and do this scientifically."
Science is best when it involves lots of hamburgers and cute girls.
