It's not ALL about dragons...

The second son of Molly and Arthur Weasley and is described as having a broad, weather-beaten face with so many freckles that it looks almost tanned. Charlie's build, like that of his twin brothers, Fred and George, is shorter and stockier than that of Percy and Ron, who are long and lanky.

Attended Hogwarts from 1984 to 1991, finishing school the year before Harry Potter starts attending. At Hogwarts, he is a Quidditch Captain and legendary Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team.

After school Charlie chooses to go to Romania to work with dragons as a Dragon Keeper. At Harry, Ron and Hermione's request, he takes Hagrid's baby dragon, Norbert, an illegally hatched Norwegian Ridgeback, into his care in Harry's first year, and his team bring four rare species of dragon to Hogwarts for the First Task of the Triwizard Tournament.

During the second rise of Lord Voldemort, Charlie's task is to try to rally support abroad. Charlie returns to the Burrow to participate in his brother Bill's wedding as best man. He enters the later part of the Battle of Hogwarts at the head of reinforcements gathered from among the friends and families of the people who have stayed at the school to fight, as well as many of the Hogsmeade villagers. He survives the battle, without serious injury.

... And then After Midnight begins...

ll About Charlie
Character Information:

Name: Charlie Gawaine Weasley
Age: 31
History:
Bloodline: Pureblood

Family: Born second of seven to Arthur and Molly Weasley, looked up to by most of his family while he takes to looking up to his one older brother, Bill. Born into limited means of finance, Charlie has never ever blamed his parents for a lack of anything, but rather, has taken the approach of an optimist and has thanked his parents many a time for what he has gotten: a loving home and all the support he could ever want when needed most. Charlie takes the role of “older brother” very seriously and makes it a point to either be the protector, especially in the case of the one sister, Ginny, or the brother who has to initiate the younger ones to manhood, as in the case of Percy, Fred and George, and Ron. Of course, the initiator roll is one shared with Bill and often, the two have teamed up in efforts to bring their brother’s further into Wizarding Manhood. Such tasks have included teaching them the rules of quidditch, how to sneak firewhiskey into the house under the parent’s noses, the proper way to give a younger sibling noogies and wedgies, the best way to pick up chicks, and how to impress them further with really lame jokes. As far as the youngest sibling and only sister goes, Charlie (and Bill, but mainly Charlie) made a point to teach her that infamous Bat-Bogey Hex for the sake of protecting her most sacred treasure, her virginity (which he received a mighty strange look and then a prompt smack in the arm for mentioning “EW, I’M NOT SNOGGING BOYS YET!” “SOON ENOUGH THOUGH! I’M JUST TRYING TO- OW!”). He continually provides the role of mighty protector, and is not as laid-back as Bill about this role, but certainly not as uptight about things as Percy might be.

Childhood: One might assume Charlie lived a wondrous childhood of fun and games and all sorts of exciting things that little boys like to do... but.. he was very much limited as to what he could do, being that his time was spent mainly indoors where many, many wards were active in the attempt to keep The Burrow safe from attack. It is very unfortunate that the young man should have to endure years of this because some horrible Wizard just had to start a terrible war. Yes, from a very early age, Charlie was bitter against You-Know-Who and took to muttering learned (from Bill and Dad when he didn’t realize Charlie was listening) obscenities about the Dark Lord while he tried his best to entertain himself via inside things. Like reading non-stop about Dragons, and Quidditch and all sorts of terribly interesting things that he thought he’d soon need to know if he was ever going to be the smartest boy at Hogwarts! Needless to say, the moment the war ended thanks to baby Potter, Charlie took to the outdoors and had a great change of heart about what he intended to do at Hogwarts. This is not to say he didn’t go outside prior to 1980, it is simply that he wasn’t allowed out for the longest amount of times and since Mummy had to watch him and Bill and the new babies like a hawk, it was just easier if they were kept indoors.

So, at the age of eight, Charlie became enamored even more with Quidditch and outdoor things. He was an excellent little boy for the mother who was desperate to keep up a nice garden and grow her own vegetables. He loved getting dirty and spent so much time outdoors that he had to chased around The Burrow a half hour before bath time or else there was no getting him inside in time for the other to have their baths. Normally, he was a good boy, he just spent eight years prior being holed up inside and he couldn’t stand being told to come in. Not for weather reasons, not because it was lunch time (“CAN’T I EAT OUTSIDE?” “NO!” “Fine!..... PLEASE?” “NO!” “Fine!!!!”) and certainly not because three year old Ron wanted him to beat up Fred and George for turning his teddy bear into a spider. Okay, so maybe he did give the twins a stern talking to and a harsh wallop over the head, but he did it outside, and that’s the point. In all actuality, his childhood was not spent mainly outdoors, so he ended up making up for it later in life when he decided to work with dragons in Romania.

Education: It is safe to say that Charlie is quite book smart, but it’s only topics that have caught his interest because otherwise he might not know a thing and might not give a flying horse about it one way or another. So while he didn’t make the best of grades in Divination, Potions or in Magical Runes, he was quite enamored with Magical History, Care of Magical Creatures, Charms and Transfiguration. He did excel in Defense Against The Dark Arts, and this has always been because Charlie grew up with the fear of the Dark Lord in his bones. He has always been very serious about the possibility of danger lurking in the safest of Wizarding Communities and so he took that class completely serious and made attempts to study up on DADA techniques in his free time.

Book smart, yes, but this wasn’t what he was known for during school. First, he was known for being Bill Weasley’s brother, and a Weasley in general, but then he was known for his audacity with ladies by his third year, his brilliant Seeker skills by his third year and his ability to suck up to teachers to win Gryffindor more house points. This never worked with Snape, of course, but he did try his best and often, for his attempts, got points taken away or detention. He ended up Gryffindor Quidditch Team Captain, brought the Gryffindors the Quidditch Cup and left the school with a desire to work with and study dragons of Eastern Europe.

By 1991 he had achieved this dream and was well known in Wizarding circles for being so good with Dragons and other dangerous creatures. His studies helped the advancement of certain magical protection laws and various other legislation for the care of more dangerous but wondrous creatures, such as, of course, dragons. While his profession worried his mother endlessly, she still managed to seem pleased and proud of her second eldest boy. Charlie only recently came home to England for good (well maybe not for good, but for a good long while) to deal with all the issues surrounding his brother’s follies, his mother’s depression about said folly's and to recuperate from a back injury which makes it hard for him to do a lot of work with dragons when it goes so stiff and painful on him.

Personality: Charlie isn’t quite as laid back as others in his family, nor is he completely uptight, as previously mentioned. He’s a very healthy mix of the two extremes, but this does not mean Charlie is Mr. Perfect when it comes to his emotions. He’s actually got quite the temper, and being that he is very physical, he takes it out through copious amounts of physical activities. Either by running laps, doing other exercises, or doing adrenaline pumping stuff like stupid tricks on a broom or... you know, taming dragons. When he can’t vent properly and when it builds up, he does have his explosions of anger and he can be very scary when he’s yelling and cursing and being a total brute. It can take a lot to calm him down, or, if there is a girl that he is smitten with, only a few words from her and he’s quiet and calm once more. Generally, he can be very funny and his humor tends to be on the sarcastic side. He was one of the few to encourage the twins in their ventures of opening a joke shop just because he believes laughter to be a very powerful sort of medicine. Often, to make another feel better, he’ll try a lame joke or two, or make funny comments best he can because he hates to see other’s sad when they don’t have to be. Mainly, this goes for his family and immediate circle of friends, but if he thinks a complete stranger is in need of a smile, he’ll do something silly for them maybe once. It is to be noted that Charlie has never had one serious relationship with a girl and this is because he has loved his job far more than any Witch. No witch has tamed this Weasley and he’s comfortable with the idea that none may ever strike his fancy in the way his mother struck his father’s fancy. He acts as any single man might and does flirt tons and doesn’t seem very serious about any relationship, which can irk some girls who have confessed liking him more than the platonic sense.

Sexuality: Heterosexual!
