So, last week I got the notice about my phone interview for food stamps. It was supposed to be food stamps and MSP (Medicare Savings Program, and without it I couldn't afford my freakin' meds), but it said food stamps and TANF (and I don't qualify for TANF) on the form. So I called in right away, and the person I talked to said they'd make a note of it in my file and to just tell the person when I had my phone interview.

So, this morning was my phone interviewer. The interviewer had a thick accent I had a lot of trouble deciphering, and when I told him I was having difficulty, he said "I can understand you".

...it really pissed me off. It didn't help that he had me on speakerphone.

And he didn't know a damn thing about MSP, and was no help when I tried to ask about it.

The interview, as usual, was just me repeating what I'd written on the application I mailed in.

And after all that? I am going to get the same $10 a month food stamps I've gotten for five years. No cost-of-living adjustment at all.

I'll probably call 211 tomorrow (or this afternoon if I calm down enough) about MSP, because it's really important.

So I was responsible and called 211 about the MSP this afternoon instead of tomorrow.

The first rep couldn't answer me, so I got bumped up to a second person, who told me that MSP doesn't require an interview and I'll get a letter if they need anything more from me. So, that's good, I guess? But insanely frustrating. And it's important, because without MSP I couldn't afford half my meds.

The highlight of the day was the arrival of my Soap Box Company order. I tore a little hole in the Villainess Wasabi soap to get a sniff... tangy! The Arcana Caffeinated Death is like smoky Kaluha, and the Possets samples... The Girls Love Clubbing is a potent clove, High Tea is a somewhat astringent tea, Maggie is warm and foody and does have a distinct graham cracker smell, and I got an extra sample of The Girls Love Limeys, which is a wonderful juicy lime scent.

My Tea Table order went out FedEx, which is good because it won't be in the hands of my surly mailman who bitches about climbing the stairs to deliver my package. Tracking says it should arrive Wednesday.

And mainly for the Death Note fans on my flist; the currently ongoing Teru Mikami application post over at [info]hogwarts_hocus is absolutely hysterical and should be checked out. Mikami is played beautifully and he's so utterly horrified.

Does anyone have any idea what the adorable MatsuKen is eating in this picture?

But this is a family-ish thing. My "baby" cousin (she's 28) Beth is pregnant, and I just found out she likes raspberry tea. So I created a decaf raspberry blend in her honor at Adagio, predominantly raspberry with a little peach and vanilla.

I'm probably going to hell for laughing at this.

A single vehicle fatality rollover collision in south Williamson County took an interesting twist earlier this evening when bees began swarming and stinging bystanders at the scene...

The car crash wasn't news, but the bees were.
