Got my bottle of BPAL's Gelt yesterday. Damn, but it's good! Warm and rich and ooooh, cocoa and amber go well together! It's probably the last smelly luxury I get for a while, so I am extra glad it is such a nice one. I need to properly skin-test my imp of Prunella, but it smells very nice in the bottle.

Transit strike is still going on. I haven't braved the reduced-level service, although the routes I generally use are operating (erratically, and god knows how crowded). [info]doombuggie offered to take me to my MHMR appointment tomorrow, thankfully, so I won't need to face it then, phew (and hopefully there will be Jason's Deli after, I know that after dealing with MHMR bullshit a baked potato would be more than welcome!).

I've been a bit more awake today than the past few days. Dozing, but not full-out asleep. Considering I need to be awake tomorrow, this is very good. I also got some very nice cat-cuddles this morning. Anya is such a snuggly cat! It's so nice to have a huggable kitty.

Requisite post-election stuff... I'm sure everyone who knows me even a little can guess how disgusted I am by California's Prop. 8. Everything I would say about it is being said more eloquently elsewhere, so I'll leave it at that. Locally, Prop. 2 (to end tax subsidies to commercial developments) got voted down; I'm mildly disappointed, but it's an issue I could see both sides of so I'm hardly crushed, and it was very close. And of course I am incredibly relieved and grateful that Obama won. In my intoxicated state, his acceptance speech was kind of like watching the best episode of The West Wing ever, because it was REAL. I'm actually cautiously optimistic about what will happen with a Democratic President, House, and Senate. And, hopefully in the next few years, some Obama-appointed Supreme Court Justices.

And that's the latest.

Forgot to mention in my previous entry; there has been crab activity! Voltaire was out last night. He'd changed shells but he changed back. Buyer's remorse! I put him in the big cage and watched him check it out. He seemed very pleased by the moss. Now it is just Magenta in the Kritter Keeper all dug in. Here's hoping I catch her out and about soon! I need to get a red bulb for the heat lamp.

Oooooh, the timing of this LJ permanent account sale... I might spend the money from selling off my BPAL on one, even if it'll delay my being able to get a laptop. Hmmm...

Dorian!
10:12pm 06/11/2008
Before I add it to my smellies sales post or put it on eBay, I'm giving my flist first dibs; I'm adding my BPAL Dorian 10mL (full) to the sell pile. Does $25 including shipping sound fair? I'll take a counteroffer if one of you has one. For my flist, I'll ship international, but I'll have to charge for the extra postage. Oh, and with the transit strike it may be a few days before I get to the post office :(
