How I have missed [info]heroes_meta.

Tim Kring has taken a tip from George Lucas in this first scene and subtly hinted to the audience that Evil Abounds by suffocating his characters in black leather. Though future!Claire strikes me as less badass and more of a bitch, really, and no amount of leather and dye-jobs is going to change my mind. :/

"I always loved you" made my giggle aloud, though even that could not drown out the simultaneous squeals of the Paire shippers.

Peter being the one to shoot Nathan? Now that was a curveball. That I was not expecting at all. o_o It actually struck me how much future!Peter looked like s1 Sylar in his baseball cap and trench coat; wonder if they were setting something up there, or if that's just a good look to go out a-killin' in?

If present!Peter had caught future!Peter right there after the shooting, it would have blown. his. MIND.

When present!Peter hung up on Claire in the ambulance, I couldn't help feeling that it was less to do with character and more to do with the fact that this plot would fizzle and die if Peter took a few seconds to reason from "Claire's healing blood could cause Nathan to live" to "I also have healing blood, and I am standing maybe six inches away from his bleeding body". I believe that when this happens, it is called an "idiot plot" and generally frowned upon. :|

Though it's fairly obvious that Nathan is not going to die. I mean, super healing blood saved him when he was blown up by his nuclear brother, so a couple of bullets aren't exactly going to do him in.

Haha, where did this doctor learn his bedside manner from? Peter's all worried and stuff, and he just closes the door, and then later goes "I'm sorry" and buggers off somewhere without bothering to wait and see if Peter had any questions or anything. And where are all the nurses? Did Nathan just have this one guy trying to stop him from going off to that big White House in the sky? This hospital sucks. xD

:O NATHAN IS A ZOMBIE.

Hiro has the sexiest clock in the world.

And Hiro's adorability factor has ramped up by maybe a thousand percent since he got out of feudal bloody Japan. His bored ability practice made me squee so much. And zomg, Ando-Hiro interaction that is as cool and sweet and funny as that of the first season! Banter, guys. Banter.

"I am extremely interested in money!" Bahaha, Ando, ily.

Mr Muggles gets fluffier every time I see him. I would swear that he'd had an argument with a home perm machine, except that clearly if this was the case then it clearly would've been the machine coming out with the war wounds.

"What do you want from me?" ...Claire, either you are stupid or you are doing a very good impression of it. What do you think the brain man who's left a trail of lately superpowered bodies behind him wants from the superpowered girl cowering in the closet? Really.

...I refuse to believe that escaping from Sylar is as easy as whacking him with a handy candlestick. :/

Obviously, in between seasons, Sylar has gained the awesome new power to make home fixtures evil.

Claire is badass and also has a knife! I actually believe that this moment's Claire is more badass than the gun-toting one in black leather. See, that one was just trying too hard and not actually doing anything cool, whereas this one is going "hmm, slamming doors, dying lights, serial killer in the house... should I scream and run like a damsel in distress? Or take a knife and make with the STABBITY?" The latter of which is just damn cool.

I honestly thought during this scene that Sylar had somehow gotten his hands on the power of illusion after all, or of Maury's mind control, because the whole thing feels so disjointed and watches in places like a dream sequence.

Poor Mohinder. What did he do to deserve getting bashed in the head by a paranoid Maya and her cricket bat? Seriously, is she that paranoid that "Gabrielle" is going to leap out of the shadows and devour her tasty mascara-leaking braaains?

Omg, Mohinder is talking about science. He's probably getting every word of it painfully wrong, but he says it with such sexy conviction.

Mohinderlizard makes his triumphant return! I love that the vital memory stick of importance is still kept in the gravel of the vivarium. Hopefully human!Mohinder will have had enough sense to make a backup or two in case that one still gets lost or stolen or damaged, right? ...Right?

Exposition is always better when George Takei is delivering it. Hell, he could expose at me all day though not in a pervy way kthnx. :D

Drinking game: every time Hiro says "destiny" during this episode, take a shot. You'll be hammered within minutes.

So Hiro, knowing that the audience loves mysteries but loves them more when they aren't caused by the characters just not asking, gets right onto the task of opening the world's least securely-locked safe. Unfortunately, before he can open the mysterious envelope of mysterious, it is stolen by a blur.

The frozen slipstream is probably utter scientific bollocks, but it looks cool and that's really what's important here.

When the speedster woman looks sideways with just her eyes and then breaks abruptly out of the timestop, she's using precisely the same gesture that Sylar patented back in The Hard Part. I'll forgive her, though, because she actually came prepared with a semi-plausable reason for being able to do that.

Why are people always knocking Hiro out? Is there some kind of super-evolved magnetic attraction between his face and their fists?

Matt is suddenly full of smartitude and detectoring and I luff him; future!Peter is a shitty liar; and Nathan's sense of timing is truly unparalleled.

Dude, Nathan, you already did the dying and coming back to life plot, remember? With the blowing up and the creepy Phantom of the Opera look you had going for a while? The Pasbeard-- remember the Pasbeard? It wasn't some religious experience that time around, so why now?

Nathan totally sounds like he's been brainwashed or something. I don't mean the Surprise Christianity, specifically: rather that he's kind of stumbling over the words, and it all seems a little bit spaced and a little bit staged. If there hadn't already been a mind-controlling villain I would totally be calling Nathan as a new guy's first victim.

Woo, Mohinder! You're planning to... give people potentially dangerous super-abilities? ...sure, why not. Not like anyone would want to do anything untoward with that kind of power, like mass murder or taking over the world or destroying the human race with a plague or whatever.

Sylar is playing with Claire like a cat with a mouse, to use the tired old cliché. He clearly wants something more out of this confrontation than her brain, or else he'd be slicing right through that door and not wandering around the room exposing at her though not in a pervy way frsure.

If anyone knows what the hell Sylar thinks he's on about as he roots around Claire's head there, be sure to drop me a line, because I am of the opinion that he's just talking a lot of shit.

Oh awesome, we finally get to find out just what the hell he does with the brains? Also: "eat your brain? Claire, that's disgusting" may be my new favourite line ever. xD

And it's all with the looking and the poking and the intuitive aptitude! HAHA I FUCKING CALLED IT. VICTORY ARMS.

I fangirl the little click there as he finds the key to her power, for the record.

How come the hair on Claire's abandoned skullcap (incidentally? hahahahaha win. and did I mention that it's awesome that they were having this conversationa as he rooted through her head?) has no blood in it? Just sayin'.

You know what? If Sylar were truly awesome, he would've put her head back on crooked. :3

...okay, show. That's enough immortals now. I mean, really.

Mohinder, you are kinda reminding me of Stephen Bell in his crazier moments. No, you are not allowed to give yourself unknown superpowers. >_>

Maya, please. You are not the only person in the entire world. :/

...what the fuck is Linderman doing here? Is future!Peter doing his funky disguise thing again? Come to think of it, when did Peter get illusions-- am I just brainfarting and forgetting a time when he met Candice?

What is up with this season and making people's hair look kinda stupid? --actually, I take that back: I typed it and then Tracey came onscreen. She is totally hotter than Niki or Jessica, and it's all because of the hair. I never really liked their hair.

Okay so this is what is happening in the future. Ando has been shooting up ADAM and EVE, and this has created a giant fucking earthquake that is going to kill everyone right now unless Hiro does something funky with time or kills a cheerleader or something to prevent it.

Mohinder clearly thinks that a midnight dock in the middle of nowhere with no-one there to help him out when it all goes to shit is the appropriate place to test out his new superpower drug. Sterling reasoning there, Doctor Brain.

I am slightly sad, because I totally called Angela's power being the dream thing, but I can't remember if I ever mentioned it outside of some fanfic plan that nobody read. :(

(Protip: Angela Petrelli kicks butt and takes names.)

Wow, okay: this episode made me wtf an awful lot, but the montage at the end with "I'M PETER PETRELLI!" and HRG being all "...huh?" and the reporter dude in the cells too (I swear to God it's him, he is so badly like a villain or something), and Matt in the desert, and Claire sitting there all bloody, and all this stuff are worthy of my love. \o/

"...Moving its slow thighs"? Hands up who agrees with me that Mohinder knows that no-one listens to his voiceovers, so he's by now just talking out of his nether orifices for the lulz and nothing more.

Oh, christ, it's the bloody paintings again. Again? Again. :|

I leave you with this public service announcement: MOHINDERHULK SMASH.

It is late and I am now going to sleep, because I have to get up tomorrow at some point to shower and go to the freshers' fair and stuff. Episode 2 can come at a more awake-brain point in the future. SEE I CAN MANAGE MY TIME EFFICIENTLY. >_>
