I've been waiting for "Thud" by Terry Pratchett (read: longing, willing, hurrying into bookshops every time I'm in town) to come out in paperback so that I can buy it and read it and love it. Well, it hasn't come out in paperback, but the next best thing has happened, and I was squeeing all the way home. Guess what I found in the library?

So I am a very happy chappy. Or at least I would be, if I was a chap. Which I'm not. Although on MysticRealms.net, someone exclaimed in surprise, "Jitters is a girl?" You may find this funnier when I tell you that Jitters is my screen-name on MysticRealms.net. Or you may not...
Speaking of Mystic Realms, I've been roleplaying on there for the last couple of hours, and my character's had more happen to her in that one session than in all the other sessions I've played on there. Maybe it's because we had a couple of GMs, when all the other times it was just characters talking. Anyway, Jitters played this "wheel of fate" style dealie, got the yellow segment and won a jar of yellow lemon-smelling liquid, whilst the old man running the wheel muttered something about "it's got water and juice in there, but it's not just fruit juice". Jitters smiled and nodded and got a bit weirded out, and the GM told me in a private message the properties of the drink I'd just been given. Am I going to share them here? Heck no! I wrote them down on a post-it and I'm going to keep them private. ;)
Then Jitters got talking to another character called... called... darnit. It sounds like "Lydda", but it wasn't that. Anyway. She was really cool, a brilliant roleplayer. And we were talking about the famine hitting Auvrynon, and about L's homeland (she'd only recently come to Auvrynon, though she'd visited before), when this random bloke came up to Jitters and did an influence touch on her. He rolled a d20, needed an 8 and got an 18, so needless to say she got very very influenced. :P So now his face and voice are "burned into her mind", and "she'll WANT to see him again... no doubt he would find her, as she had become one of the chosen ones." Duuuude. Could make for some cool plotlines, so long as cybering isn't involved. :P
Oh, and POTC:DMC looks so cool like omg w00t!!1 Though our beloved Orli looks as cardboard as ever. I'm going to see it with Harri this Saturday! *is very very happy* |
