Maybe I shouldn't be watching these things when I'm going to see it tomorrow (omgbbqsqueeeee), but, er...
Clip from Pirates of the Caribbean! ^_^
Cap'n Jack Sparrow is so cooool... *eyeballs him*
...
...*cough* Anyways.
Behold... the Older and Wiser Meme!
Otherwise known as: "What you did when you were a kid." Because it rhymes, see? I made this meme up when I was failing to sleep last night. Go me.
1. Something dumb: I used to eat the bubbles in every bath. They tasted so good! And my mum said they'd give me stomach-ache but you know what? They never did.
2. Something funny: Oh, dear, we went to this play which was a mish-mash of various fairy-tales starring Mister Motivator (does anyone remember him? No? You at the back? Oh, you're just yawning, I see. Moving on.), and a bunch of kids -- including me -- were invited on stage to see who could sing "Nellie the Elephant" loudest. And I yelled it into the microphone, sending the legs of the poor guy holding it all a-quiver. Muahaha.
3. Something painful: Aargh aargh aargh. I was on my tricycle, made a sharp turn close to a wall, fell over and scraped my thumb nail clean off. The doctors said I'd been lucky, though: if there'd been any nail left on there they would've had to pull it off. *winces*
4. Something happy: I have this great memory of my dad, going down one of those big water flumes together, and splashing into the water at the bottom, both laughing. :)
5. Something sad: When my gran went into hospital. Mum said we could see her when she got better-- but she didn't.
6. Something you loved: Bath bubbles! Well, apart from that, I was seriously in awe of my cousin Adam. He was like the coolest person ever to me. He could ride a bike! ^_^
7. Something you hated: I was terrified of this computer game called "The Logical Journey of the Zoombenies". Don't ask me why. >.>
8. Something you're proud of: When I was ten I won first prize in a school art competition for my drawing of the Priori Incantatem. Go me!
9. Something you're ashamed of: Oh, this is stupid. My auntie Anne (well, one of them :P) was staying round our house, and I put squirty soap all over her flannel by accident. So mum had a go at me, and I kind of hid in bed, and when mum asked if I'd apologised I lied and said yes. So mum went and asked Auntie Anne, and came back in a towering fury, literally dragged me out of bed and held me there until I'd told her what I'd done and apologised. >.<
10. Something you wanted to be: I had my heart set on being a ballerina. But then, doesn't every girl of a certain age? ;)
11. Your childhood pets: My first pet was a rabbit called Toffee, who was so cute and fozzy, but she had a stroke after next-door's dog got into our garden and attacked the hutch. My brother had a guinea-pig called Fudge, but he ran away. We also had some fish, which beat each other up. O.o And we had this beautiful golden retriever who we named Hazel, and she was absolutely gorgeous... she was really friendly, and she had a thing for balloons. She'd get one and carry it around in her mouth, ever so carefully so it wouldn't pop. She was wonderful-- I loved her! And she was the same age as me, if you don't count dog years being shorter than human ones. But when Dad died, we didn't have the time to take her out for walks or anything, or to look after her properly, so Auntie Anne adopted her. Hazel's dead now, but she did live to about eighty-something, dog years.
12. Your weird habits: Wow, what did I *not* do? Erm... I used to make little puppets with my hands and call them Handragons, with the middle finger for the neck and head and the other fingers for the legs or the two legs and wings... Sometimes in the bath, I made Handragons into mermaids, holding the end of the flannel between my thumb and little finger to become the tail... I'd kind of stroke my face with my nails, heaven knows why... Oh, and if I did an action on one side, say, waving my left arm, I would have to repeat it exactly on the other side, otherwise my eyes would feel unbalanced. Try explaining that one to a psychiatrist. O.o
13. Fads you never got into: Clapping games. Partly because no-one wanted to play them with me, and partly because I couldn't remember the rhymes anyway.
14. Fads you really got into: Er, for some reason it was considered the height of cool to stick a pin through the skin of your thumb and let it dangle... O.o
15. Your first memory: Bouncing in a bouncy chair in the doorway between the lounge and the kitchen in our first house. Whee!
16. Scars you have to show for it all: I have a couple of scars on my fingers where, in seperate incidents and completely by accident, I stuck sharpened pencils in there. I also have a scar from where some innoculation swelled up and burst, and another from where someone hit me with a water pistol. No, not with the water from it, with the actual pistol. XD Then I have a whole bunch of scars on my left arm from where my brother clawed me, but I told mum I'd hit my arm on the edge of a chest of drawers...
17. Would you do it all again? Er... probably not. Some of it was cool, but I like where I am now.
All memes have to start somewhere, after all... ^_^
And now for my final thought. Has anyone else noticed that Tchaikovsky looks like he made his name by picking letters out of a Scrabble bag? O.o |
