How about this: if you end on a happier note than 2007 and 2008, and don't include any major failsplosions, then I will give you cookies. Do we have a deal?

Ganked from the fantabulous ![[info]](https://www.scribbld.com/img/userinfo.gif) lienne. And two things to clarify: one, that I'm taking the "fave" ones to mean, say, "favourite icon that represents ___" rather than "this icon represents my fave ___". Two, that I had more than one answer for some, so I've taken advantage of that to juggle them around and avoid repetitions. Just, uh, so you know.
( Doing this partly because it'll be fun to look back on afterwards. :D )
