Lines lines everywhere, but not a drop to drink. [29 Apr 2013|09:20pm]
Lines. Lines. LINES LINES EVERYWHERE!

It was his own fault, really. He had made sure to be at the airport himself, even if he wasn't actually leaving right now. Hell, his trip wasn't even for another week, but he got an e-mail to check the airport he was using. Plus he wanted to head up north. But apparently there was an issue with the airlines computer system which threw the whole thing out of whack. So now here he was. Sitting here. Waiting to head to Seattle and not going anywhere. And there was nothing that could get this crap off his-

He-llo Nurse!

There was a cute girl pretty much right next to him in line. He has no freaking idea how he didn't even notice her, especially since she had...well, green hair. But she was cute. As in really cute. And she was standing right behind him. Maybe that's why he didn't notice her before. He was the last in line a second ago.

"Pardon me. Do you have any idea what's going on?"

Eye contact eye contact eye contact. Even if she is a little taller than him.

Plot Idea: The Nights Tale [19 Apr 2013|09:03pm]
1) There is an attack on the Lourve. The attack is repelled by the normal security there, but in the retreat one of the Atlas companies is invaded by the attacker. Again repelled, there is now evidence a to what was happening: The person in charge was yelling about "Charlemanges Blades".

2) The attacker is revealed to be Lady Janet Phyffe, distant relative of the man who once betrayed Doctor Strange. The woman seems to be targeting any blades tied to Charlemange. Curtana in England is placed under lock and key, and Joyeuse is taken into deep protection.

3) To try to figure out where Durandal is, Derek and Dolemeck start researching. The first place they go is Metropolitan Museum of Art, which has a collection of ancient English, French, and Spanish knights. In it, Dolemeck is drawn to a particular tabbard of a lost English knight. While there, Dolemeck has visions.

4) Dolemeck reveals that in his visions, he saw who he was: he was a minor knight within King Arthurs court, one who had been manipulated and betrayed by Morgan Le Fay, then banished him to Limbo where he stayed for almost a thousand years. But as he was revealing what has happened, there is an attack.

5) Lady Phyffe attacks the museum, thinking that she now had Durandal in her ownership. Derek and Dolemeck move to fight her, and in the fight it's discovered that the sword was not Durandal but Precieuse, the sword of Charlemanges enemy Baligant. She retreats, vowing to find Durandal. Through a quick research, they go to the Pyrenesse, the last know place of Durandal.

6) There is a race to the Pyrenesse. Derek and Dolemeck (plus anyone coming along) fight her at La Brèche de Roland where they fight so hard that they break into a set of underground springs. They subdue Phyffe and find Durandal within the underground caverns.

Meme Scene - Derek and Mac: Once Upon A Time... (Fluff 6 ahoy!) [22 Jan 2012|02:41pm]
Ten Years Prior

Derek was excited. Excited excited excited! He got to see his cousin Macrus Riding.

He knew that wasn't his name, but he could only remember the "Mac" part of it. So he filled in the rest with what he guessed. But hey! Cousin time! He never got much time away from the San Fransisco location, and when he did it was usually him staying with his Mother and Daddy.

Yay, cousin time!

Meme Scene - Kal and Derek: The Beatles were never more right... [22 Jan 2012|02:07pm]
Well, this was just obnoxious. It was beyond obnoxious. But he had been lusting after his cousins teammate for a while now, and there was never a more appropriate song than "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", which just irked him even more. he had to talk to her. Even a mention to the negative would help him get rid of this.

So there's a knock at the door of Kalypsos room, with Derek there. His face is neutral, but his body language is heavy and depressed.

Test Scene: Some family time [13 Sep 2011|08:41pm]
Well, this was quite a view! New york city is so very very different from San Fransisco. in the times he went to the city streets above the Atlas Sanctuary, it was often with Uncle Bob under the cover of his projections and often for small things. A visit to the diner Dad loved so much. A visit with the sea life with Mother. Hell, sometimes Uncle Ken snuck him up for some late night shenanigans that he was never supposed to mention to Dad and Mother and they always got caught for it. But now here he was, on his own.

It was really really weird to him. he'd walk by, giving smiles to people, and not getting them in return. It's kinda weird, but like Aunt Venus said the love is there in the people, you just have to know how to reach it. he doesn't have a magic song like her, but Derek is going to keep smiling and looking around Grand Central Station while he waits for his cousin-wait. nephew. His two years older than him nephew.

Derek Woo [13 Sep 2011|07:39pm]
Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: Chris
Email: on File
AIM (if you have one): On File
Character Name: Woo Shi Yi (Derek Woo)
Character LJ (if applicable): childofatlas
Physical description (face, build, weight): Derek is a tall, muscular young man of mixed descent. his atlantean heritage has given him slightly pointed ears (although they are barely noticeable), but he does have the sign of most other mixed human/atlanteans: he has wings upon his ankles, allowing him flight. His hair is cut short like his uncles.
Age: 16
Birthday: November 16
PB:  Cung Le
Abilities: Derek has the increased strength, speed (particularly swimming), and durability of all Human/Atlantean hybrids. He can see and breath under water with ease. He also has some minor access to Uranian technology, such as headbands similar to his Uncle Bobs, although with nowhere near the capacity as he is Non Uranian.
Weaknesses and flaws: Derek has the temper of his mother and uncle. he is not as brash or eager to fight, but when his moods do swing to that of anger he is hard to dissuade, particularly when it comes to Temujin, the current Mandarin. In addition, if he were to use Uranian technology to excess it leaves him mentally worn.
Character location/Home: Atlas Sanctuary, under San Fransisco, CA, his "nephews" apartment in NYC
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero
Relatives (living/dead?): Namora (mother/living), Woo Yen Jet/Jimmy Woo (father, living), Namor McKenzie (uncle, living), Namorita Prentiss (half sister, living), MacKenzie Rider (nephew, living)
Backstory: When Jimmy Woo was returned to his youth and found himself the leader of the Atlas Foundation, he had in his employ several of the most loyal teammates anyone could hope for. But there was one who, as a monarch herself, was the most help in making his adjustment from a time-warped secret agent from the 1950s into a true monarch: Namora of Atlantis. Through many hints (or snide remarks in the case of his Uncle Ken) that the two were more interested in one another than they claimed, it took several months for them to admit it, and even then it was a discussion between the two that ended in mad passion that cemented their relationship. Not two years after they started the relationship did fate (and some high tech fertility treatments) grant Namora the joy of giving birth to a second child, Woo Shi Yi (or in the tongue of his fathers adopted land, Derek after their confidant Derek Khanata).
Derek grew up in the upper leadership of the Atlas Foundation, but was treated as a normal child by the members of the team (all of whom he knows as his Aunts or Uncles). He grew up aware of the world outside but he never got much chance to interact with it because of the semi-secretive aspect of the Foundation. Still, he was given a thorough education and had the equivalent scholarly knowledge of a high school student by the time he was sixteen.
However, the secretive nature of the Atlas Foundation worked against it when Temujin, the son of the Mandarin and former member of the Foundation, took upon the title Mandarin for himself and began to eat away at the power base Jimmy Woo had worked for years to ensure. Temujin made an attack upon the Sanctuary itself, trying to claim the Spirit Banner when Derek fought in his first major battle. His atlantean physiology and his Uranian training helped to stall the older man, but only long enough to be reminded that his father will die at the hands of the dragon Mr Lao and it would be all his fault that his father would die when he became Eternal Khan.
Still, Temujin was pushed out and Atlas won, but much of its anonymity was spoiled due to the attack. It is still mostly secretive, but an idea of how large Atlas was became known as Temujin tried to push his advantage in the economic fields. The last three years have been a trying time for the young princeling of two worlds, and to help he was given a chance to live elsewhere. He has yet to decide where, though...
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Derek has been mostly isolated in his entire life. He does know how to interact and talk but he has been around mostly older people, and more importantly older people who did not wish to anger the young Khan to be. So he will strike out on his own, most likely with the help of his cousin. Much hilarity will ensue
What are you planning to do with this character?: As he has about as much knowledge of the Marvel universe as the player does, he will be a curious fellow exploring and meeting people as best he can.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: Some character growth. he has been tucked away from the world for most of his life and, while he knows how to communicate, he tends to blurt and can be awkward at times.
