12:11 pm - my mom's shopping habits never cease to amaze me.
yesterday, i was in buffalo with my family for hockey games. first, my brother had a game in cheektowaga. so my mom had me look up stores where i could look for prom dresses. so after the game, me and my mom went to the boulevard mall and looked in TTNY. and their dresses were absolutely amazing, but the ones that i liked were $500. so we just looked around and then walked around the mall. and got pretzels. as we were eating the pretzels, my mom asked if i wanted to go back to TTNY and try on the dresses. so i said yes. because the dresses were amazing. soo i picked out 3 to try on: a turquoisey-green one, a turquoisey-blue one, and a bright pink one. and they were all hanging up in the dressing room and i was like, wow i'm looking at $1500 worth of clothes right now. it was insane. so i tried on the turquoisey-green one first, and i came out and one of the girls who worked there tied up the back for me, and then her and like 3 other people who worked there said that it looked amazing on me, and they had me try on shoes and brought out a matching shawl and purse. and then the manager guy who owns both TTNY stores came over and started flipping out about how perfect it was for me, and then he brought out a necklace that matched it. and he was talking about how now is the time to get dresses, because if i wait they'll all be picked over, and he was talking about the store and how they do dress tracking, so he had one of the girls make sure that nobody from thomas had already bought that dress, and he kept talking about the stores and shopping and how the dress was perfect for me, and i felt bad bc i knew i wasn't gonna get it. and he said that if we bought the dress today, he would give us the shawl for free and give us 25% off the accessories. daaah. and then i tried on the other dresses, my mom took pictures. but i really liked the first one. so i was changing back into my normal clothes, and my mom comes in the dressing room and asks if i want to get that dress today. and i was like OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!?
so i got the dress!!!!!!!! XD
and the shoes
and the necklace
and the earrings
and the purse
and the shawl.
on the way home, my mom was talking about how the manager knew so much about dresses and stuff. he said he hand-picks everything that they sell in the store. and she goes "i don't know what his name was, but i saw that his belt had his initials on it, and they were DG"
"mom....that's dolce & gabbana."
so i guess now i'm not allowed to ask my mom for any more favors or complain about anything for a long time. i can't believe she would spend that much money on a dress for me. she said it cost more than her wedding dress. and we gotta go back for alterations. because i'm short.
if anyone knows how to make a cut, let me know...bc i tried doing it the gj way and it didn't work.
thursday was my brother's birthday. he got guitar hero. so i've been playing that.
on friday i gave blood. and i was in the field house for an hour and a half. i was fine while they took the pint of blood. it took 18 minutes. which is a ridiculously long time. then they took 5 tubes for tests and stuff, and after they took those tubes i felt lightheaded and my stomach hurt. so they gave me a cold washcloth for my forehead. and after that i felt fine.
then friday night i went to the mall with alyssa. and we went to charlotte russe and flipped out because there was a ton of stuff on sale. so i got a coat for $5. and a new purse. then we got smoothies.
and saturday night, we were at my grandma's house and we went out to dinner and i got pancakes =)
then we went back to her house and watched spongebob and had cake.
then me, my mom, and shane left to go home. my dad and michelle stayed overnight because michelle has 2 more games in buffalo tomorrow.
so when i got home i had to clean out my closet so my dress would fit. because it's got a huge poofy bottom part. and now i have to clean my room because i got about 10,000 shoe boxes out of my closet and a ton of clothes. and i found my sweatshirt that i thought was missing. but yea. my room's a mess now. and i have to make sure my closet door is closed all the time and be careful about having the closet open and the door to my room open at the same time, because i don't want mercury going anywhere near my dress. my cousin had an expensive prom dress, and her cat climbed up it once.
