| The Two of Swords is balance, equilibrium, and a striving for harmony. Alex and Sam are the eldest children of Louis and Genevieve. The twins have a tendency to balance each other out, come to the other's rescue and bring each other back to their senses. The twins would be completely lost without each other. Alexandra and Samuel have always bounced back and forth between extremes. They would mercilessly tease their younger siblings but then assume the older, responsible sibling role. They can be extremely cruel one moment and exceedingly kind the next. As children they got up to hijinks together and when they weren't together, they covered for the other. As they grew older they still remained close, but for a time became worse influences for each other, ten years ago they faced their darkest moment. As a prank, Alexandra jumped out at Marielle as she was coming up the stairs. Marielle fell backwards and broke her neck, killing her instantly. Alex was so mortified she couldn't say a word. She ran to Sam's room and cried for hours, when he heard from his father that Marielle was dead, he knew. Alex immediately told him the whole story and feeling insanely guilty for the death of her sister asked that he never reveal the truth to anyone else. The twins have kept their pact of silence to this day and skirt around the topic of their lost sister. As adults Alex and Sam still have moments of completely flakiness but they're more grounded and sensible than they were in their youth. Alex can be your best friend and your worst enemy, she can scheme and manipulate but she cares for her family like no one's business. Sam gets bored easily and will often take off on an adventure for days at a time, leaving his wife and kids at home, in his absence Alex keeps them company and watches after the kids. Most days Sam is a better playmate than he is a father, but he genuinely cares about his family even if he thinks his wife is sometimes a bit over the top. Sam was married to Amara, a total gossip queen who talks a mile a minute. He has a hard time keeping up with her and sometimes ignores her but at the end of the day she's still his wife and the mother of their children, Ezra and Raja. | The Nine of Swords is nightmare, torment, and fears, the only way of escaping is through confronting the truth. Logan is the youngest son of Louis and Genevieve, he is quiet, cryptic, and contemplative. He is the epitome of a mama's boy though. He suffers from nightmares, night terrors, and insomnia and always has. He looks ill and spends most of his time indoors rather than outside. He was never taught how to ride or fight but he is brilliant when it comes to book knowledge. Logan is struggling to come to terms with his sexuality. | The Ten of Swords is ruin, grief, and devastation. Genevieve is cool, calculating, and collected. She was raised by her grandparents after her parents died of illness. She was brought up to manipulate and scam her way to the top which was exactly how she ended up married to Louis when she was only fifteen years old and he was twenty. She wasn't forced to do anything she didn't want to and Louis let the relationship grow very slowly, they've now been married for twenty five years and have three children. Genevieve is tired of being the second lady in his life though and wants Louis all to herself, but more so the title of Queen. She wants to get rid of that pesky sister of his once and for all. She has been trying to get Louis to marry her off to anyone but he won't make Elizabeth do anything she doesn't want to do. Gen is getting sick of it and ready to take matters into her own hands. Genevieve and Louis had four children; Alexandra, Samuel, Logan, and Marielle. Genevieve had given up on her plots after Marielle was born because she truly fell in love with her youngest daughter. Unfortunately Marielle died mysteriously ten years ago when she was only eight years old. Genevieve was destroyed, she still clings to her youngest child Logan, but for the most part she's back to her scheming ways. He was born to the very depressed Elizabeth who was then shunned because of her unmarried status and her eccentric lifestyle. Liam was raised cooperatively by Elizabeth and her close friends, including her brother Louis and cousin Ephrem. He was trained for battle and scholarship but his true talents emerged when he was a young teenager and he quickly became the prophet for the house of swords. Liam has never had any relationships because he has always been so incredibly shy and reserved. He has always had a close friendship with his cousins and the other people in the house. The goal was to make an heir to the throne, but when Kohaku's mother discovered the real reason of the affair, she sent the baby away from the house in secrecy. He was raised in the sword kingdom in an apprentice home for the arts. He didn't really have a loving childhood. Kohaku moved into the palace when Elizabeth discovered some of his paintings and poems. She fell in love with the art work and asked him to be a royal entertainer. Little does she know that she employed her nephew. Kohaku lives a comfortable life, he was unaware of his lineage until a few weeks ago when he was visiting his old apprentice home. He was given a letter that his mother wrote when Kohaku was a baby. He was disturbed at the information that he received but also intrigued. Ephrem decided to stay with Alistair when his mother left so he could try to steer him toward a more positive way of thinking. Things were going well... until war broke out. Ephrem went to fight for the Arcane kingdom and returned at the end of the war injured and completely blind. She was always a skilled musician and dancer and has been revered in the Pents kingdom as one of the most talented artists. All of her public and known works are, of course, dedicated to Temperance, but her more private works have what some Pents would consider a heathenish feel to them. | The Eight of Cups is a card of movement whether it be physical, spiritual, or emotional. This movement does not always have an means or goal. Yumi is a royal cousin to the house of cups. She spent a lot of time with the cups princesses and grew up with them, learning all the same lessons. Often times though, the lessons never sunk in with Yumi as she was constantly daydreaming. In her older years she often conspired with her cousins to take off for a few days and travel around the kingdom. She got away with a bit more as she was a part of the royal family but she did get into a lot of trouble for her solo field trips. Nothing stopped her from traveling though and to this day she is known to go missing for a few days at a time and travel throughout the different kingdoms. | The six of cups is about nostalgia, forgiveness, and community. Princess Rikku, the second daughter of Emi and Malcolm Westerveldt, has always been the strangest of her sisters. She was often found frolicking around on her own having a good old time. She is a curious, somewhat flaky girl who is easy to forgive and see the silver lining. Rikku was married to Kenshin Tanaka, an esteemed warrior for the kingdom. Rikku was happy and in love with her husband, and soon became pregnant. Unfortunately, Kenshin died in battle and never returned home to see the birth of their child, who is three months away from being born. Rikku was devastated by her loss but is excited about becoming a mother and very proudly shows of her rounded tummy. Úlfr Randarson, the brother of Ivarr and father of Sveinn never really had a path in life. He bounced from day to day, never knowing where he was going or how he was getting there... until the war. He was a soldier alongside his brother and saw some great and terrible things. The whole time he fought, he was fighting to get back to his son. It was the first time he had ever set a goal in his life and after a long and trying war and some serious injuries, Úlfr made it back to his son with a renewed sense of life and direction.
