02:16 pm - Less Whiny Update

I didn't sleep well, but I did sleep at a time conducive to my being coherent when I go to the doctor in a little while. *whew* My legs hurt rather a lot, but I guess I'll find out whether I'm up to the walk or not...

At some point last night I looked outside and the sidewalk in front of my house had been shovelled. I don't know who did that but I have a guess -- if I'm right, I'll thank him later. My steps were icy, but my cunning plan involved throwing salt on them when I woke up and hoping they melted by the time I have to leave.

Well I knew today was predicted to be warmer than yesterday but I was unprepared for how much warmer. When I got up I heard water hitting the tarp upstairs, so I dashed up there to move a bucket under the spot a leak had moved to, and saw how BRIGHT! it was on the south side of the house and how little snow remained on rooftops. The bedroom and bathroom had gotten up to 291K (64°F;18&^deg;C) and the kitchen had made it to 285K (54°F/12°C) -- a couple Kelvins makes a big difference in comfort in that range! A couple of steps out front still had ice on them, so I did drop a little bit of salt.

All in all, today looks rather more possible today, than today looked yesterday. I'm going to be sore and tired by the time I get home, but I'll be coherent when I'm talking to the doctor.

Heck, maybe I'll even be able to do something fun this weekend, depending on just how much this afternoon exhausts me.

And I was right, I did have a small butternut squash in the pantry. Yay.
