So here's what I get for not paying attention (not that I know whether anyone's reading me here or not anyhow ... but I'll continue just in case).
Scribbld moved from scribbld.net to scribbld.com in late August. It took me a while to notice that my auto-crossposting script wasn't managing to log into Scribbld, and when I did notice, I assumed it was some temporary glitch. So it took me even longer to realize that something was persistently broken.
I finally got around to looking at News on Scribbld, and saw the note about the domain change. (Fortunately, redirection worked that far, since I was looking at News on scribbld.net. But it appears domain redirection isn't working on every aspect of the site, hence my failed auto-crosspostiing.) Then I procrastinated on fixing it, because I was in the middle of various projects, not feeling well, and didn't feel alert enough to try to remember what needed changing in my ~/src directory to fix it. (I use the 'clive' (aka 'ljclive') client, and I've got three different source trees for it, for different experiments, so first I had to remember which version my current binaries were from. Eventually I'll finish the version that has crossposting built in, instead of compiling a separate binary for each site I post to.)
So today I finally felt like I had enough concentration for the ten-minute fix (literally -- five minutes to figure out which source tree was most current and remember what my site-customization scheme was, and five more minutes to realize that the reason the Makefiles weren't working was that I'd gzipped most of the other files awhile back during a disk space crunch ... see what I mean about concentration? Oy). But now I've got a week shy of two months worth of blog entries missing from Scribbld, that I really ought to go through and repost here, backdated.
I don't think I'm going to -- I'm still in the middle of about eight other projects, and waiting for a shipment of keep-the-migraines-away medication, and I think I'm just going to have to live with having an incomplete mirror of my journal here rather than adding another project to my to-do / being-done list.
If you had been reading me here, and want to catch up, try going to my Dreamwidth journal month by month (those three links go to Aug/Sep/Oct), or start at the 2010-08-27 quote of the day and use the "next entry" arrows to read forward from there -- no flocked entries, so you won't miss anything even if you don't have a DW login; mostly QotD posts, but a few photos and some randomness as well.
With any luck, regular crossposts will start showing up again here from now on.
