Speaker For The Diodes - March 11th, 2011

"Take a good, hard look at the leaders you see -- the ones that actually affect your life, from your boss to the CEO of multi-billion dollar, transnational corporations -- and ask yourself to what extent they actually embody traits like honesty, duty and a commitment to excellence, and to what extent they mouth those words due to social obligation, but will betray those ideals at the drop of a hat, or the whiff of a marginal increase in their bottom line.

"Take a good, hard look at the institutions that intersect with your life and ask yourself to what extent they embrace and reward experience, labor and craft.

"Take a good, hard look at the authorities who have real power over your life and ask yourself if you believe that, behind closed doors, they behave honorably, responsibly and patiently."

12:43 pm - Tired of this. And just tired.

Night before last and yesterday: went to bed at midnight, phone silenced 'cause I thought I was gonna sleep; finally fell asleep at nine; woke again at half past sixteen; by twenty o'clock I was crashing again; awake again by twenty-two thirty. This morning: to bed about half past two (would've been earlier but it took me a while to tear myself away from the eathquake/tsunami coverage); ain't slept yet, though I really thought I was about to not off for a while there around eight."

Tired of this game. Wanna play something else instead. *pout*

(Obviously, this is screwing up my plans. *grumble)

Since I'm too tired to make this whine funny, let me toss in something unrelated and pretty ...

Via [info] cellio and [info] siderea: an amazingly sweet instrumental version of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" on the flea-guitar. I'm impressed by how rich some of those chords sound with just four notes, how perfectly the harmonics fit in with regular stopped notes without sounding like special effects, and ... well, with pretty much the whole thing, actually.
