04:22 pm - Last night's civil-rights news only _mostly_ good
Argh! Feeling quite cheered by the big news last night about marriage in NY, I missed the bummer about discrimination.
(Here in Maryland we had more complicated bad news earlier in the year, which started with a gender-nondiscrimination bill put forth that lacked crucial "public accomodations" language -- so OT1H it's bad news that we still don't have it, but OTOH that version of it would have been an obstacle to getting full protection later.)
