Biography: Portia is a courtesan and entertainer in Vaughn's court, living under his protection in exchange for her more amusing talents (not the least of which is her willingness to kill when asked politely).

She grew up in the Meridian Mountains, the daughter of Lucian and Lilynette de Wynter. Her father had considerable influence and wealth from his parents. She grew up in a protected haven of the mountains. Her mother however had been a poor mountain woman before she was the grand lady of the house. She taught her girls how to survive, connive, and do whatever you had to in order to succeed. As such her daughters grew into beautiful, cutthroat creatures.

Portia discovered she was immortal fairly early on and decided to fix her age so she could retain a youthful appearance. In some of her entertainments she uses her immortal magic to age herself dramatically and claims blithely that she is such a skilled illusionist that no one else in Meridian could cast the same skill so convincingly.

She took up in Vaughn's court out of curiosity for the thriving Central City and after catching his eye was invited to stay. She enjoys the intrigue at court and the bustling city.

Since Reagan's arrival Vaughn has taken less of an interest in Portia. This irritates her to no end; she is now constantly scheming of a way to get rid of this interloper from New Meridian.
