Her clothing style unique. She mixes and matches from several of the stereotypes. If it's something she likes and something that will look flattering on her slender body and her subtle curves, she will find a way to work it into her wardrobe. Bethany is not a capri or skorts girl. She doesn't understand how that became a trend. On a day to day basis she is found in jeans and tees, in the summer tanks and shorts. For parties, going out or dances she will wear a skirt or a dress.

DETAILED PERSONALITY: She's not one of the popular kids.  She's judgmental.  She SHOULDN'T. She knows that but she can't help it. Most other people seem SO happy.

She's more of a loner in the sense that she doesn’t rely on people, doesn’t fully trust most.  She enjoys being around people but she expects them to disappoint her in some way.  She has one close female friend and one close male friend that she tells EVERYTHING to.

Rebellion is like a drug to her.  Drinking, a little weed.  She's not one for the harder drugs.  Just a taste of it.  Sneaking out after curfew, breaking into the school, etc.

Bethany is often emotionally reserved or closed off when it comes to guys and romantic feelings.  She's afraid to fully give in to happiness because every time in her life that she got her hopes up, they were stamped all over.  Beth is easily considered jaded.  Her life isn't full or love or happiness.  Since she was young it's been full of heartache, bitterness and disappointment.

She's the type of girl who has one, maybe two close friends and a bunch of other friends she keeps at arms length.  Beth wants to find love, she wants to be happy.  She just doesn't know how to let herself be happy.  So she panics and pushes away.  She should probably see a therapist but she pours her pain into her writing.  Poems, lyrics, stories.  All the best artists have tortured pasts after all.

The people that Beth opens up to, the people she truly allows to know her are her best friends and her trusted confidants.  Those people aren't many and they've been with her for years.  She would do anything for them.  They are the people she would drop everything for and be at their side in a heartbeat.  They're the people she'd answer the phone for at 3am.

HISTORY: The stubborn, independent and driven nature of her personality reared its head back in infancy.  She was always trying to do things ahead of her time.  At just about six months of age, Bethany was refusing baby food.  The person attempting to feed it to her often walked away wearing the large majority of it.  Her bottles were a specific temperature, otherwise she threw them.  By nine months she was walking.  All of this was without a doubt incredibly frustrating for her parents.

At the age of five, she met the girl who would be her best friend for life.  She walked up to Bethany on the first day and told her they were going to be the best of friends.  And she had been absolutely right.  They were inseparable.  That didn't change as the years progressed.
Her childhood was far from perfect.  Up until the year she turned ten, it was the normal imperfections that filled life.  Her parents argued, her and her older brother fought like cats and dogs, there was the occasional dispute with extended family.  The things that happened infrequently and when looking back would be a small blip on her childhood radar.

Bethany was ten years old when her father announced that he was going to be leaving them.  He stayed around town for awhile, though rarely bothering to see his children.  It was as if he gave them up when he signed the divorce papers.  It took months for him to show up when it was his visitation.  Stupidly, Beth thought maybe this time would be different.  She got her hopes up several times after that.  Over the better part of the year, the continual let down broke her.

She blamed her mother, almost as much as she blamed herself.  It was stupid and irrational.  It was why they fought all the time.  She couldn't help it or change it.  She was being angry with her mother because her father wasn't around to be subjected to similar treatment.  It didn't make any sense but she couldn't seem to stop what she was doing either.  In her defense, her mother gives her plenty of ammunition.  Where Beth lacks in believing in love, her mother believes all too quickly.  At least by Bethany's standards.  It was just over a year after the divorce was final when her mother was accepting the marriage proposal of a seemingly good man, who had a daughter and son close in age to her.  Another reason for which to hate her mother.

All throughout school Bethany wasn't one for organized activities or anything school run.  Except for the paper or literary magazine.  That she was on board with.  It was the only thing besides English class, particularly when they could free write, that she was excited about.  It was the first thing she checked into when she arrived in high school.

Beth's been grounded more times than she can count.  That doesn't stop her.  Neither can her mother.  Whether or not her mom chooses to look the other way so she doesn't have to argue with Beth or if its because she is  truly unaware that she sneaks out is still unknown.  She leads the life she wants to.  For her age, she's a fairly responsible girl.  She certainly isn't the type to sleep around.  In fact she's firmly holding onto that V card.  Having sex with someone she's dating…that's just a level of intimacy she doesn't want to experience.  And she isn't sure she could do sex without feelings.  In this instance, its better not to experiment.
