Hello Insanity my old friend
Have you come to kidnap me again?
Are we going to go on a memorable trip?
Are we going together, through the bumps and the dips?
Are you going to blindfold me?
Block out my eyes and my ears
so i can't hear or see?
Or will you just bind me partially
so i remember everything so clearly? |

| Poem 001 -- Loyalty |

You told me once, you didnt think
you had what it takes to make it big
you felt that you were not good enough
i knew at that point to call your bluff
I had this feeling, deep inside
you had what it took to survive
I saw the strength deep within you
the courage, beauty and wisdom too
I knew at first, things werent right.
deep down i knew something had taken flight
enigmatic were you at best
however the more i looked, i saw through the rest
Proceeding through my own trials, i wasnt sure
if i was going to be able to endure
but out of the darkness, you extended your hand
i grasped it, and came from the darkness to bright land
things seemed well, until that one day
i glanced down in the darkness, and there you lay
Scared, frightened, not sure what to do
I waited, held out that hand, till you were ready to
Hesitating you had, and i knew right there
that reguardless of the situation, i would help you bear
any minor burden or joy, be the person you could trust
knowing where you'd been as I had, for that it was enough
The more i grew close to you the more i began to realize
That there was more to you -- then most met the eye
Yes sometimes i've found myself growing a little mad
however knowing who you are, i knew it was never bad
Others may grow tired and wonder your true heart
i guess in a sense i knew in a way from the start.
God places people in our lives for a reason...
they come and they go, just like the seasons.
He brought you to me for a special purpose
Whatever it is, we've probably scratched the surface
You've helped to guide me into the person ive grown to be
To realize being myself, is something i shouldnt hide for the world to not see
I know things, are never what they seem
but a part of me will always be the person who wants to redeem
to reach out and show you that no matter what
there is something who will care about you, no ifs ands or buts.
Someone who would be loyal to you for a matter of just because
to do things for you, without a reason or cause
Yes sometimes you annoy me, which i may do to you
but my loyalty will trump any emotions i feel through
ill stand by your side for as long as we're on this road
I appreciate and love you more then you know. |
