→ Faris laid on his bed, chin tucked against a pillow to prop up his head as he played God of War. On his stomach, his legs kicked up carelessly as he twisted and yanked the controller so that his character would do his bidding. His door was wide open in case someone called him, or a customer showed up for an impromptu session with him. He had to make himself available, according to the rules, but that didn't mean he couldn't spend his time how he wanted as he waited.

→ Pilot had just finished up with a client and when the man was gone he wandered over to Faris' room to crawl onto his bed with him. He just laid down on his back beside him, not bothering with watching him play the game because he really wasn't interested in the game at all.

→ Smelling the scent of someone else lingering on Pilot was not a new experience for Faris, but he disliked it everytime it happened. Pausing the game, he glanced over at his brother and leaned to kiss him on the cheek. "You're too popular."

→ "I'm not that popular." But he was, because he was human and fragile and he let vampires feed from him and he let humans hurt him and do all the things they couldn't do to people when they weren't paying. "Are you just playing your game for the rest of the night?" he asked softly before leaning his head ver to press a kiss back to his brother's cheek.

→ "Playing it until someone wants me for something." For anyone willing to brave the threat of death just for a good fuck, the true thrill seekers. Faris put down the controller though, leaving the game paused and his attentions on Pilot. Putting one of his arms over his brother's chest, he laid his head down so that he could hear Pilot's heartbeat. "And yes you are. You work too much and I hardly ever have time with you to myself. I'm beginning to think I should spend my allowance on you."

→ "Don't you dare." he laughed a little bit, putting his arm around his waist to draw him in a little bit closer. He let his hand rub down Faris' back, fingers smooth against his skin. "I want you to savey our money."

→ Shutting his eyes, Faris shook his head, still letting it lean heavily on Pilot's chest. "What for?" He didn't think they really had anything to look forward to. Someday, he wanted to leave this place, and he knew that when they got older, they wouldn't be able to make anymore money. But he was never one to look ahead much.

→ "I don't know, you never know when you might want to use it. And if you spend it on me, when you can have me for free, then you might regret doing it, you know?"

→ Faris wasn't sure he could have Pilot for free, not these days. Still, he nodded and let himself settle. This place wasn't terrible; it was fair, and he made a lot of money to tuck away. But he wished he hadn't drug Pilot into it. "I think I need to shift soon." Because he could feel it building in his muscles, making him itch all over.

→ "Then maybe you should. Do you want me to leave you alone for a while." Because he knew that Faris was nervous about shifting in front of him and he didn't want his brother to feel like he might shift and hurt him. "I can come back later."

→ "No, I can hold it." Because he didn't quite understand his own limitations yet. He held onto Pilot tightly so he couldn't leave on his own volition. Maybe it was a bit too tight because he didn't know his own strength.

→ It hurt a little, but Pilot didn't say anything because he was used to the pain. Instead he just scooted in as close to the other as he could get and laid his head against his. "Okay, then I'll stay."

→ Faris smiled, showing his teeth and unable to keep himself from biting Pilot's shoulder gently before kissing the spot he'd bitten. "Have you seen Langston around?" He asked as he continued to kiss at Pilot's neck, talking as if he wasn't brushing his mouth against delicate skin.

→ "When I saw Langston it was right before I came up here to see you and he was downstairs talking to a man with a beard who looked very serious." He wasn't sure what it was about because he hadn't wanted to interrupt.

→ "Oh no, a very serious man with a beard--whatever shall we do?" He laughed, lighthearted now that Pilot was within his grasp. "He probably wants to buy you and whisk you away to Germany or some other serious place." But he knew Langston wouldn't allow that, the man wouldn't separate them. He finally got up to Pilot's mouth and flicked his tongue across it, tracing his lips with the very tip.

→ Pilotlifted his head as if he had been waiting for that. He kissed him back, lips parting to allow the kiss to go deeper if that was what Faris wanted, because it was what he wanted. But they were interrupted when a knock came to the open doora nd he pulled his head back to glance over at Langston and the very serious man he'd just mentioned.

→ Faris didn't want to stop kissing and he made a sound of protest before he looked up. He didn't feel like making out with his brother was wrong, but having other people see it embarassed him and he sat up quickly, glancing back and forth between the two. There was something about the new man that made his insides jerk and twist anxiously.

→ "Pilot, go to your room." Langston said, and without thinking twice he rolled off of the bed and left the room. He gave one backwards glance over his shoulder at his brother before he disapparead down the hall. Once he was gone, Hunter and Langston came into the room together.

→ Frowning, Faris stood up, as if to attack one of the two intruders, but he didn't make a move. Instantly put off by them making Pilot leave. "How long is this going to take?" He folded his arms over his chest, jutting out his hip defiantly.

→ "Sit down." Hunter said, not really wanting to deal with a fight. "As long as you cooperate this shouldn't talk long at all." He let Langston leave the two of them alone together. "I'm Hunter Atwater, I'm the alpha of the werewolf pack in Cold Water Flats."

→ Faris had only heard of Cold Water Flats from a couple customers. It seemed like no one was ever from there specifically, but they'd heard rumors. Faris never confirmed nor denied such things because he didn't have a clue. Hunter's voice made his body want to obey, but his mind made him stand firm. He'd never been with another werewolf before and he swallowed hard, feeling a well of fear rise in his stomach. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

→ "It means I am in charge of all the wolves in Cold Water and in most of this region." He said. "Sit. Down." This time there was no question that it was a command and that there would be trouble if he didn't sit down. Until hunter said, "Please."

→ Gritting his teeth, Faris only loosened upon the word 'please,' and he figured he could oblige without too much loss of dignity. Sitting on the edge of the bed, Faris breathed in slowly the smell that came along with Hunter. It was nothing but a good one and that perplexed Faris' logical side. How could someone he never met smell like home? "So you think you're in charge of me then?"

→ "In a way." Hunter said. "Because there are two kinds of werewolves. Pack wolves, and mutts. Right now you are a mutt. If you come with me tonight you will be a pack wolf. You will move to cold water and live with the pack. You'll be well cared for, you'll have a place to stay and something to eat whenever you are hungry. And a large wilderness to run in. If you stay, you'll stay a mutt and you'll be dealt with like a mutt."

→ The derogatory term made him angry. He didn't like the idea that some high-and-mighty werewolf group thought he was just a mutt. "Langston couldn't possibly have authorized this. You can't just come in here and take me away from--" Pilot, he meant. "--everything."

→ "I can and I will." He said. "Because there is a lot of trouble with werewolves and now that he is well aware of the dangers of you being in here, without any kind of control or discipline, he's agreed to let me take you. Take you, or kill you."

→ Skin blanching white, Faris' first instinct was to run. Ever part of his body tightened as his heart pumped jolts of fear into him. Kill him? Hunter would kill him? "You can't." But his words lacked any kind of conviction now as his eyes flicked to the door, then the window. He'd have to go out that way.

→ "Don't try to run. I will catch you." Hunter said. "You don't have much choice. you are a risk to the wolves. To exposure. You are a risk to the humans becuase you don't have good enough control of yourself. We can help you. We can give you a better life."

→ "I've done fine on my own so far!" He pointed out. Langston had been able to provide a shred of education, and Faris hadn't killed anyone--yet. Sure, he'd maimed a couple of people, but they'd paid for that. "I'm not a danger to anyone." Instead of heeding Hunter's warning, his body sprung into action as he made for the window, not caring if he went through it or had time to open it.

→ Hunter was faster than he was and he caught him by the shoulder and tossed him easily back onto the bed. "I said don't run." But they never listened, they always tried to run ."You don't get to decide to liev unless you want to come with me. I'm amazed you've made it this long."

→ Faris landed squarely on the bed, stunned at how fast Hunter had moved. Up until now, he'd only had to deal with vampiric speed and strength, which was great but not that great. Eyes fluttering open and shut, he managed to sit up and scramble backwards so that his spine pressed up against the headboard. "You wouldn't kill me--I have to take care of my brother. I'm the only one he has."

→ "Langston has agreed to keep Pilot here and to let him live and work here as long as he wants to." Hunter came to the foot of the bed and he just watched Faris, the boy was scared, he could tell and his beast was on edge, so he tried to extend his own forward, to let him calm down a little. "He'll be safe and well cared for."

→ But alone. They'd both be alone. Faris felt the familiarity reach out to him and his own wolf answered back with eagerness. But he wasn't convinced that this would be a good thing. Just thinking about leaving Pilot made a lump rise in his throat. "Please don't make me go." He said suddenly, begging.

→ "Either way your brother will still be here. But if you come with me I can arrange for visitation. If you choose not to come with me I will kill you and he will be truly alone." Hunter knew it was harsh, but it was the way it had to be.

→ This was really happening and as the reality sunk in, Faris started to cry. He was so used to being the most powerful thing in the room, the strong one, the one who would never show weakness no matter what. Now he was powerless and he was being made to leave the one thing he really loved. Wiping angrily at his face, he lowered his head to his knees to hide the tears. "All right."

→ Going to the bed, Hunter put his hand on his back and he gave his shoulder a gentle squeeze. "It's for the best, you might not realize it now but with time you will." he said. "Now, gather the things that you want to take with you and I will take you to say goodbye to your brother.'

→ Not bothering to pull away from the touch, Faris hated that he found it comforting. He'd almost rather leave without saying anything to Pilot because he was so ashamed about leaving him in this place. He obliged, getting up to pack some clothes and a few comic books into his backpack. He tucked away his psp as well as all of his games.

→ Hunter waited very patiently, though he was anxious to leave. To get on the road and get Faris home. He could tell that the boy needed to shift and while it wasn't dire, he'd be happy to get him into the woods, to run with him and show him what he'd been missing by allowing himself to shift in doors, and alone.

→ Faris was done packing and indicated as such. Slinging his bag over his shoulder, he looked like a mixture of defiance and resignation. Upon being led out, he went to find Pilot in his room. He knew Hunter would be right behind him, so he had no fantasies of running. "Pilot? Something's happened."

→ Pilot was sitting on the end of his bed, just sort of doing nothing as he waited for Faris or for a client, whichever came first. When he heard his name he lifted his head and looked over at him. his eyes registered the bag on his shoulder and the man standing behind him but he didn't fully comprehend it. "Faris? What's wrong?"

→ Faris glanced behind him at Hunter, pleading one last time with his eyes to not make him leave Pilot. But he knew it wouldn't work and so quickly turned back to his brother. "I can't stay here anymore. I'm too dangerous. I guess I could hurt you or someone else, so this man, Hunter, is taking me away." He had to grit his teeth to keep from sobbing openly as the words came out and he had to see Pilot's face react to them.

→ Pilot looked confused and then hurt and he stood up from the bed to get closer to them. "You're leaving? You can't leave... we're supposed to be here together, we're supposed to stay togther. I left so I could be with you." he was on the verge of panicking. "Please, Faris, you can't go, you can't leave me here, take me with you." He was going to beg, he wasn't above begging.

→ He rushed to wrap Pilot up. "I don't want to leave. He's making me go. He says I can visit." Pushing his face against Pilot's ear he whispered, thinking perhaps Hunter couldn't hear him. "He'll kill me if I don't go, Pilot, please understand. I love you so much. I don't want to leave you. I wouldn't hate you if you ran back to mom and dad--they still love you--they'll take you back." He'd started to cry because he couldn't help it.

→ Pilot was sobbing hysterically, clinging to his brother as tightly as he could because he didn't want to let him go. Just ten minutes ago they'd been joking and kissing and now he was being taken away. "You can't! You can't leave me here! I can't be alone." He'd never go back to their parents. If they couldn't accept Faris then he didn't want them and he didn't want to lose his brother. "Please, plase, you have to stay or you have to take me with you."

→ brb shower real quick

→ Faris lifted his head and looked at Hunter squarely. This had resolved it. "I can't leave him here. I won't." Extricating himself from Pilot, he pushed him backwards on the bed, putting himself between Hunter and his brother. "I'll fight you if I have to." He knew he would loose, but somehow being ripped apart by a werewolf in front of Pilot seemed more humane than walking out the door with one. Standing up, the fear burning through him rose into an acrid stench, and his entire body trembled, but he stood up on firm feet anyway.

→ Pilot hit the bed and he just sat there, sobbing. When Hunter started forward he stood up, but Hunter was faster. He had Faris up over his shoulder before Pilot could get to them and he was out the door, pulling it shut behind him. Pilot hit the door, small fists beating against the wood as Hunter held it shut. He was screaming so loudly that several of theo ther boys in the house came to their doors to look out and see what was going on but none stayed to watch long or even offered to help. Hunter waited until Langston came back to calm Pilot down and then he started off, carrying a struggling Faris.

→ Faris yelled only once, then fell silent, wriggling against Hunter's grasp. He knew there was nothing he could do, but he pounded at Hunter's back anyway. It was then that the wolf started to shine through, and Faris could feel his body give way to let out the animal inside. He screamed not in protest, but in pain, muscles clamping down on himself.

→ The minute he started shifting, Hunter put him down. He drug him right along into the closest room, kicking out the inhabitants and then closed the locked the door. This was not going how he wanted it to go at all. Of course he hadn't anticipated the boy having a brother, which was why he'd been so gruff with him.

→ Skin splitting, being replaced with fur, Faris cried out as his bones snapped and popped, realigning themselves. Sometimes, it felt as if he would be stuck in the partway forever, a twisted monster of sinew and muscle. Soon his cries turned to snarls and howls. The room melted away from him, and everything was forgotten as the wolf took over. When it was finished, he was curled up in a tight ball of grey fluff, nose tucked terrified beneath his own tail, whimpering.

→ Once he was shifted, Hunter went to him and he ran his hand between his ears. Though he wasn't in his wolf form, his beast was strong enough to calm him. At least it did with the wolves in his pack. "Calm down." He said to him. "Once you have had a minute I"M going to carry you down to my truck." He talked to him as if he'd understand, even though he wasnt' sure if he would or not.

→ The words were very far away and he only caught snippets of meaning tangled up with gibberish. The touch made him flinch, but soon enough it let calm filter through his body. There was something missing, someone he was missing already but he couldn't remember who. It made him want to howl, long and low, but he couldn't find his voice. His sides heaved with effort to breathe, but slowly, he settled.

→ Once he was calm enough, Hunter scooped him up off of the ground and carried him quietly through theh ouse. When they got to the truck he tucked Faris into the passenger seat and then slid in behind the wheel. It was a thirty minute drive and he knew that Faris would get restless. He just hoped that the wolf didn't attack him on his way to Cold Water Flats.

→ Near the end of the trip, Faris was feeling a panic set into his limbs. His tail thumped with anxiety on the seat, and he pushed his nose out the window to taste a bit of fresh air. He felt trapped, closed in, and he knew it was the man behind the wheel's fault. Still, something in his instincts told him to stay put, that to attack this man would be death. So instead, he whined with concern and chewed angrily at the interior of the car, pulling chunks of it out with his teeth.

→ "Stop it." Hunter said, trying to swat at him as he tore the upholstery in the car. "You're ruining my car. We're almost there." He was turning up the long drive to the house, tryiing to keep the wolf from ruining the seats any more but he was pretty sure he was just giong to have to get it re-upholstered. When he finally pulled up in the driveway he got out of the car and he walked around to the other side of the truck to let Faris out.

→ It was satisfying, ripping up this artificial fur and meat, so he continued until Hunter opened the door. Bursting out of it was too hard to resist, so he shoved past Hunter to get his feet on real ground. The smells were overwhelming and just as soon as he was so eager to get out, he felt the sudden urge to spin around and crawl back inside. Unfortunately, the door had already shut and so forced his tail up into the air so that he had the appearance of confidence.

→ It had been one of those weeks where Robin was completely drawn into his artwork. He'd neglected eating, sleeping, showering and shifting. The only thing he'd done consistently was paid attention to Haben, who occasionally talked him into a shower, or something to eat. But shifting came only when it was forced out of him. Ripped painfully out of him an hour earlier. He'd just been sort of trotting around the house and playing in the backyard but when he heard Hunter's truck pull up he came trotting out to investigate. When he saw a new wolf he didn't think to run or fight, he just loped over and started sniffing him.

→ Faris was too shocked to do anything about the sniffing just yet. He stood straighter though, his natural reaction to be a dominant personality rather than a submissive one. When Robin's newness finally clicked into place, Faris' lip curled and he showed a glint of teeth before he snapped his jaws very close to Robin's nose, threatening but not delivering a powerful blow.

→ The snap at him made Robin recoil and he drew back against Hunter, who was still in human form. He crouched down and rubbed his fingers along Robin's neck, just trying to calm him down a little as he watched to see what Faris would do. If he took off into the woods, Hunter was going to shift and follow him, but if he stayed near the house he was just going to stay like he was. "He's just being friendly, Faris."

→ Friendly didn't make his insides feel like they were melting out of him. Faris knew there was something amiss about all of this, but as he wracked his brain all he could come up with were new smells, new textures, the need to explore. Sitting back on his haunches, Faris watched Robin with careful eyes.

→ Robin licked Hunter's face a few times and then he got up to trot off, leaving the alpha with Faris. Hunter stayed crouched down, just watching Faris as he sat there, looking sort of angry. "Are you going to just sit there all day?"

→ Picking up on the anger, Faris bared his teeth again, snarling at Hunter for talking to him, looking at him. Now that he was on the level, Faris felt the urge to attack and maybe get away. He stood up and growled, planting his feet firmly on the earth as if readying himself for a pounce. But at the last minute, he turned to the right, loping off towards the houses instead of the woods.

→ Winnie was in the backyard, laying in the hammock that Hunter had hung back there. The wolves loved nothing more than to lounge around and she'd seen at least two or three hammocks around the area. One of her feet dangled carelessly over the edge, ocassionally sending herself swaying when the wind wasn't strong enough to do it or her momentum stopped. She was listening to Tes' iPod, having taken it from the night stand because she knew the girl probably wouldn't notice and definitely wouldn't care that she borrowed it.

→ When he saw the human form, he ran toward it. Faris had spent so much time with humans that even his wolf form felt more comfortable around them. Plus, it was a nice leg and he felt the urge to sniff it. When he approached, he quickly put his cold nose against her foot, whuffing out warm air over the dangling limb before barking at her. The sound wasn't threatening though, just attention grabbing.

→ When she felt the wet press of someone's nose against her foot she sat up. This wasn't a wolf that she recognized on sitght, though she didn't know all the wolves by sight because she really only ever ran with a few of them. Taking the headphoens off, she leaned over to run her fingers between the wolf's ears, just touching him because he seemed friendly enough. "Hey there." She said, talking to him like she would a human.

→ His brain was still very much wolf, unable to control some of the impulses he felt. But the skritch was nice and he pressed up into it, flicking his ears to and fro. Eventually, he simply laid down next to her like a large domestic dog. Faris had never had the opportunity to run, so he didn't know how. What he knew was lying down, staying safe, and being locked up during shifts.

→ Spilling herself carefully out of the hammock, she sat down next to him and put her headphones back on. She used both hands to pet him, just rubbing him down from his head to his tail. She scratched where she knew it felt good to be scratched and rubbed in the other places, all the while trying to figure out who this one was. Not Sullivan or Austin, they wouldn't have gotten this close to her and she sort of knew what Sullivan looked like anyway.

→ Pretty soon Faris was nudging in very close to Winnie, feeling calmer and calmer with each passing moment. He'd fall asleep soon at this rate and that was all right by him. Lapping his warm pink tongue over her hands and arms, Faris made a note of her smell and the safe feeling she offered.

→ When he fell asleep, Winnie just laid back in the grass so that she was stretched out beside him. One hand stayed in his fur, petting him absently while she listened to Tes' music. She was getting tired herself though and it wasn't long before she started to drift off too.
