The Grogg movie series are all based on actual events and, whenever possible, use pieces of footage from those actual events, combined with special effects.  In more recent years, participation from Grogg has made these films even more successful and easier to produce.

GROGG: THE TERRIBLE TERRAPIN
In a mostly accurate retelling--including using some actual footage from that day--of Grogg's reawakening in the mid-fifties world, a nuclear test awakes and mutates a prehistoric turtle frozen in the ice.  It travels through the ocean, where it has a battle with and defeats a monstrous squid, before reaching Tokyo.  There, most military power proves useless, until an experiment MASER -cannon hurts the beast enough to cause him to return to the ocean.  The creature is named Grogg because of the sound of the roar it frequently makes.

GROGG VS. GIGANTO: MARINE MENACES
Two years after the initial attack by Grogg, alien forces arrive on Earth and awaken the great giant whale with arms, Giganto.  The JSDF marine force proves powerless to stop the giant whale, which heads further inland, with its eventual goal being revealed to obtain an experimental energy reactor for the aliens.  In the meantime, a submarine discovers and accidentally awakens sleeping Grogg, recovered finally from the events of the first movie.  Receiving radio contact from Japan, the sub manages to lure Grogg back to Japan, where it battles and defeats Giganto, returning it to the ocean, before turning on the aliens as well.  MASER-Cannons manage to cause Grogg to return to the ocean again too, but prove less effective than last time.

GODZILLA: CHALLENGE OF THE TERRAPIN
When scientists capture Godzilla and return him to Japan for study, evil communist agents seek out a monster of their own and locate the powerful Grogg.  Leading Grogg to Japan, they turn him loose on the country, giving the JSDF no choice but to release Godzilla when their MASER technology proves ineffective.  Godzilla battles Grogg to a standstill, until the JSDF subdues both monsters with a special gas.  Transporting the two monsters to a secure facility, both are freed when the communist agents sabotage the transport.  The two resume their fight, but their battle threatens to endanger a boss full of children on a class trip.  Grogg purposefully shifts the battle away from there, but is ultimately tossed back into the ocean by Godzilla.  This is the first film to begin to establish Grogg as the "Friend to All Children" he would later become.

GIANT MONSTER BATTLE!
An evil cult resurrects King Ghidorah.  While Godzilla battles the evil kaiju, his ally, Rodan, seeks out help from other monsters and finds and battles the mighty Grogg!  The flying kaiju proves no match for the terrible terrapin, until help comes in the form of another monster... MOTHRA!  Grogg refuses to battle Mothra and follows her to Japan, where the four monsters combine their strength against Ghidorah.  When Motha is badly injured, Grogg becomes enraged and fiercely battles Ghidorah, giving Rodan and Godzilla the chance they need to recover as well.  Ghidorah is defeated, but seemingly at the cost of Grogg's life.  Godzilla and Rodan return to their natural habitats, but Mothra remains by his side, even as the military arrives.

GROGG: FRIEND TO ALL CHILDREN
Widely seen as a turning point for the series, it picks up where Giant Monster Battle! left off, with the mighty Grogg seemingly having been killed by King Ghidorah.  Mothra and her fairy companions remain in Japan, believing that Grogg is not yet dead, but not really alive either.  With Grogg's body being taken for study, the government builds Mecha-Grogg, a mecha-counterpart to Grogg to use in defense against other Kaiju.  But when agents of HYDRA steal the Mecha-Grogg, they attempt to force Japan to surrender to their rule.  Even the JSDF and SHIELD prove ineffective against the mecha, and Mothra is forced to intervene, but proves no match for its mechanical might.  It is only when Mecha-Grogg threatens to destroy a stadium full of school children that the Shobijin lead the children of Japan to sing, resurrecting the mighty Grogg to defeat his mechanical counterpart with renewed energy and strength.  Grogg is seen at the end of the film leaving with Mothra.

GROGG: DEFENDER OF THE EARTH
In this installment, Grogg fully takes on heroic status.  When the evil Doctor Demonicus unleashes an army of mutated monsters on Japan, the JSDF unleashes the powerful robot, Red Ronin, to fight them off.  Driven away from Japan, Demonicus returns to Monster Island, where agents of the government have tracked him.  Demonicus discovers them, however, and has them incorporated into a giant monster that is a fusion of several different animals.  When he turns this creature on Japan, the call and song go out for a hero, and Grogg is summoned from the ocean.  With the help of Red Ronin, Grogg defeats the creature and Doctor Demonicus is seemingly killed... but is revealed to have survived in a post-credits stinger.

GROGG: RACE FOR THE COSMIC EGG
When Mothra falls in battle defending Infant Island from giant spider-monsters, the mighty Grogg surfaces from the ocean to defend her home.  He defeats the monster and mourns the loss of Mothra, but is comforted by the Shobijin, who explain to him, and a group of visiting scientists and their children, that Mothra will be reborn from the egg she had laid not long ago.  Terrorists also arrive, however, and steal the egg with their giant robot, Mechano.  But Doctor Demonicus also wants the egg and has assumed control of the kaiju Gorosaurs, mutating him further.  Thus begins a three-way race, leading to a showdown where Grogg battles to protect the twin offspring the hatch from the egg, a male and female child.  When Grogg begins to falter, the children grow at an accelerated rate into a reborn Mothra and a male Leo Mothra, who, together with Grogg, defeat both Mechano and Doctor Demonicus, saving Japan yet again.

One Groggy Christmas [13 Dec 2011|08:44pm]
Twas the night before Christmas and all through Japan,
Not a monster was stirring, not even Rodan.
Grogg was asleep, he snored without pause,
Waiting for a visit, from old Santa Clause.

When suddenly he awoke with a thump,
And heard from the next room, "Hey, that was me rump!"
He sprang from his bed, in his slow turtlely way,
Had Santa Come?  Was this Christmas Day?

Into the next room, he went with a bolt,
He stopped, looked around, and then felt a jolt!
There by the stocking he had hung by himself,
Was a strange little man, a real Christmas elf!

How had this elf gotten into this space,
When jolly ol' Grogg had not one fireplace?
"Help me you must," the little man said,
"Santa's been taken!  Taken right from the sled!"

"He was delivering presents, he was out in the sleigh,
"When from out of the blue, came a strange purple ray!
"It lifted him up, right into the sky,
"Aliens took him away, he couldn't say bye!

"I'm asking you Grogg, just as quick as can be,
"Santa's been kidnapped, and us Elves we,
"Can't do a thing, we're not brave enough,
"Without Santa, Christmas is going to be tough!"

Santa in trouble?  What was Grogg to do?
Would he sit and cry, a boo-hoo-hoo?
Would this be the year, Christmas did end?
Or would it be saved, by Grogg, Children's Friend?

"Grogg going to help," he said with a smile.
"Grogg will play Santa, well, just for a while."
He put on the coat, he put on the hat,
He turned all around, "Does this make Grogg look fat?"

Into the sleigh, climbed the hero named Grogg,
And into the air, the reindeer did slog.
"On Dasher, on Prancer, on uh... Grumpy and Happy,
"On Dopey, and Sneezy, on Bashful and Slappy!"

To each house Grogg went, delivering presents,
Making sure each child's morning was pleasant.
How he got in, well, we might never know,
Nor how this turtle, did so well in the snow.

But then came a ship, way up in the sky,
The same that caught Santa, this alien bad guys!
They were surprised,  to say the very least
To see Santa replaced, by this scaly beast.

They tried to take Grogg, to capture him too,
But Grogg, well he, was much tougher than me or than you.
He gave a great roar, such a terrible sound,
The aliens let him go, he fell to the ground.

But he picked himself up and right then and right there,
Took in a breath, he took in some air
He let it out with a great blast of fire,
It rose from the ground like a great flaming spire

It pierced the ship there, right there in its side,
The aliens inside, well, they wanted to hide.
They wanted to run, so the pushed Santa out,
When Grogg saw him falling, he started to shout

But he moved oh so swiftly,  he moved oh so quick,
He moved fast enough to catch old Saint Nick!
Santa was happy, he thanked Grogg right there,
For helping the children, for which they both cared.

"Thank-you Grogg, for making Christmas so bright,
Will you ride with me, for the rest of the night?"
What could he do? Of course he said yes.
To ride with Santa?  Why that would be best!

With Grogg beside him, Santa's night was quite good,
Christmas morning came, like it has and it should
And they were heard to exclaim, as they road out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

We see the blast destroy a group of tanks.

Grogg continues walking and smashing.

Secret Origin of Me, Grogg! [01 Feb 2011|11:21pm]

Now Grogg going to tell you him’s secret origin.  But you no tell anyone, okay?  Because it secret!

Long, long time ago, when big dinosaurs walk, Grogg was little tiny turtle.  Grogg happy!  Grogg eat, Grogg sleep, Grogg swim.  But one day, when Grogg swimming, it get very cold.  Grogg get very sleppy.  Grogg sleep for long long time.

Boom!  Big noise wake Grogg up.  Grogg feel all tingly.  Grogg roar and stretch and break through ice.  Little tiny peoples run away from Grogg.  Grogg very confused, so Grogg walk until him reach ocean.  Grogg swim and swim and swim until Grogg reach Tokyo.

Grogg even more confused!  This not here before!  Grogg keep walking, but little things go squish under Grogg’s feet.  And big things fall down when Grogg bump them.  Little things on ground and in air spit fire at Grogg, try to hurt him!  So Grogg spit fire back at them!  That show them!  Grogg smash everything!

Little peoples bring out bigger ground thingy.  It shoot shiny ray at Grogg.  Ray hurt!  Grogg go back into ocean to rest.  Next time, Grogg think, Grogg smash better!

Next time, Grogg go to Tokyo, stupid giant lizard already there.  Grogg hate stupid lizard!  Stupid lizard think him tougher than Grogg!  Grogg fight stupid lizard.  Grogg would have won if bitty peoples not help lizard!  Stupid lizard throw Grogg in ocean.  Grogg take nap.

Hoo-mans and stupid lizard always find ways to hurt Grogg!  One time, Grogg have to work with stupid lizard and cute moth and stupid flying lizard to fight stupid three head lizard!  One time, Grogg fight stupid red robot!  One time, Grogg fight giant monkey!

And then one time, hoo-mans use something that make Grogg tingly!  Then, Grogg not so big.  Hoo-mans put Grogg in cage!  Grogg very unhappy.  Then, other hoo-mans tell Grogg they want Grogg to work for them, make up for “de-cades of dam-a-ges.”

Now, Grogg has job and friends and apartment.  Grogg get to be big hero and little humans cheer for Grogg!  Grogg not like to wear pants and Grogg not like to type reports, but Grogg like candies!

And that secret origin of me, Grogg!

Grogg was not a very happy monster.   His day had started off badly.  His alarm had failed to go off, making him late for work and causing him to miss breakfast.   When he'd gotten to work, the donuts with the little candy sprinkles had already been eaten and the coffee was the last in the pot.

Grogg's suit was itchy and his tie was choking him.  He'd broken three type-writers writing his reports for the last field actions.  Which only meant that his debt was going to get bigger.  After taxes and the various deductions to his salary that went to debt repayment, he just barely had enough get by and get the occasional extra.

Like his break time candy bar.  Delicious nutty chocolaty goodness.

Only the machine was not cooperating.

"Stupid machine!" Grogg bellowed.  "Grogg give machine monies!  Why machine not give Grogg his num-num bar?  Machine too good to give Grogg his num-num bar?  Grogg hate stupid machine!"

Grogg reached out and grabbed the machine, giving it a good shake.

Weaknesses and flaws: Grogg is slow and, to put it bluntly, not exactly bright.
Character location/Home: Japan
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero
Relatives (living/dead?): N/A

Backstory: A prehistoric turtle hatched some sixty-five million years ago, Grogg was frozen in an iceberg until he was awakened, mutated, and enlarged to gigantic size by atomic testing.  He then proceeded to stomp on Tokyo off and on for the next fifty years, causing incredible amounts of property damage.  Grogg was usually stopped in these rampages by either the military, scientists, local super-heroes, and, occasionally, friendly Kaiju.

Eventually, one of Grogg’s rampage’s was stopped by the use of Pym Particles, bringing him down to a much more manageable size.  He was then placed in the custody of the Japanese government.  As the overall damage he had caused was $3, 976, 853, 432, 287.96, it was decided he would be put to work working off his debt.  Due to the large amount involved and the fact Grogg continues to rack up further debt, it is generally assumed he will be working for the government for the next several hundred years.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: however Big Hero 6 is introed
What are you planning to do with this character? Grogg’s the big dumb guy of the team. He doesn’t need to be much more than that
