You can just change the email on it and don't validate it and the script should pick it up as being available/un-validated.

I think that would work.

I don't know if you're already doing this, but if not I think it's a pretty good suggestion..
You could ask people to delete the names they aren't going to use, and make it to where the user pretty much has to pay to create that name again.
