OHAI July!

Hey everyone!

Of course we had to start off July with a bit of a bump, but operations have resumed as normal and we shouldn't be having any more issues.

That said, we're not bringing in enough revenue at the moment, for this project to be very worthwhile to me. We the staff at Scribbld dump an ungodly amount of time into developing, supporting and working on this site, and not one account has been purchased in I can't even tell you how long. This isn't to say we're not grateful to the people who do purchase accounts and such and help us with the site, but this site has become quite the job. I love doing it, I love most of you all, but I cannot continue making this site such a priority.

That said, we're not going away, not even close! But we are likely going to be cutting back on account features and such, just so our few servers can handle the loads and such. Support will happen when it happens. As we've mentioned before this site was designed to be used by 10 people at most and now we've got almost 30,000 users! It's crazy! And I appreciate each and every single person who uses this site.

Ok, so! We've still got ALL 10 permanent accounts for sale, at $100 a pop. 95% of the money generated from the sale of these account is going right back into Scribbld and the new server. We're looking to buy some new hard drives to store data on. I might spend the last 5% on myself, buy an ice cream or something...

[info]scribbld_top5 is back up and we're looking for some new Top 5 people!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun July, GO BLOW SOME SHIT UP FOR ME!!!

My account type on my userinfo says 'early free user', but I have a paid account? Has it expired?

This is probably a really n00bish question, but I can't find the answer anywhere.

The FAQ on account levels differentiates between "new" and "free" accounts. What's the difference? I just registered and it looks like I am an "Early Free User".

Hey Jimmy! A loyal Scribbld fan here that just got around to reading the monthly post (isn't real life a bummer? haha)

Anywhoooo I co-run a rather big community on Scribbld ([info]valesco) and we were all really keen on buying those EA accounts from [info]usernames. I know you said with the name changing tokens you're not going to offer those anymore, but for the most part we bought the journals for the icon space (lol RPers) and not really the name.

Is there are huge conflict with still purchasing those names because of the tokens? I'm 99.9% positive people in my comm would continue to buy the accounts if they were still available, and if anything they would buy more icon space (but that's only for paid users :[). Is there a way to make the extra icons open to other journal accounts? Because that'd be awwwwwesome!

I'm not trying to nitpick or give advice, I'm just letting you know that we're all still willing to help scribbld out in whatever way we can :]

Hello, I'm just curious, how did you get permission to use LiveJournal's "Component" layout on your website? As far as I know, LJ has never allowed the outside use of that particular layout.

Anywho, I'd buy a perm account, but this post is really old so I'm not entirely sure that the offer is still valid, and sadly I need to spend my money on UCSB at the momemt :( But hey, you've got some promising features that make this place a worthy competitor to other sites, so I'm definitely going to consider it in the future when I have a stable income of sorts :P Anywho, just thought I'd pop by and say you're doing a great job over here. This place keeps getting better and better!
