in character.
NAME: Dominique Anaïs Weasley
NICKNAMES: Dom, Naïs - both given to her by her younger brother, Louis, who couldn't pronounce either name correctly.
AGE/BIRTHDAY: 20 (about to turn 21), 23rd May 2005
BLOOD STATUS: Pure-blooded witch, though not entirely pureblooded human... her maternal great grandmother was a Veela.
QUOTE: 'Anyone who says they have only one life to live must not know how to read a book.' ~Author Unknown
OCCUPATION: Trainee Accountant at Gringotts' Wizard Bank, London. She keeps track of the gold that treasure hunters and curse breakers bring in and of who brings home what.
FORMER HOUSE: Ravenclaw, 2016-2024
OWLs: Ancient Runes (O), Arithmancy (O), Astronomy (EE), Charms (O), Defense Against the Dark Arts (A) - we don't talk about that, Herbology (EE), History of Magic (EE), Potions (EE), Transfiguration (A) - We don't talk about that either
NEWTs: Ancient Runes (O), Arithmancy (O), Charms (O), History of Magic (EE), Potions (EE).
LANGUAGES: English, French, Gobbledegook.
FAMILY: Father: William "Bill" Arthur Weasley, 56. A former cursebreaker who now has a desk job at Gringotts'. Dominique is a proper Daddy's girl, as she feels he is the parent who is more willing to let her be who she is and not what her family want her to be - though this perception could of course be wrong. They have a happy relationship.
Mother: Fleur Isabelle Delacour Weasley, 50. She has a part time desk job at Gringotts, just as she did when she first moved to England, but spent some of the time raising her children. Dominique isn't as close to her mum as her dad, but she still desperately wants her approval and sometimes likes nothing more than a good mother-daughter day.
Older Sister: Victoire Weasley, 26. Dominique and her sister are not much alike in personality - Victoire is vivacious and fun loving while Dominique is introverted and quieter - but if you mess with her big sis, she will NOT be happy. It was a surprise to her when Victoire came out, not really being able to get the whole attracted to girls thing, but she stood by her and loves her sister just the same.
Younger Brother: Louis Weasley, ??. [[Relationship TBD]]
Other Family: She's a Weasley. There are lots, that's all you need to know!
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual. She isn't anti-gay, but the idea of going with another woman simply does nothing for her.
SIGNIFICANT OTHER: Ha ha, she wishes. No really, she does. She's totally bored on her own.
CHILDREN: None. Hopefully not a for a good while yet, either!
POLITICAL VIEWS: If she did have prejudiced views, Dominique is far too smart to allow them to be heard, knowing they would make life difficult. However, she does not. She pretty much leaves everyone alone as long as they don't cross "the line" (which she says depends on a situation and no she won't expand upon that, thank you). However, she really isn't keen on werewolves, especially after what happened to her dad, even though this was before she was born.
APPEARANCE: Height: At 5'8, Dominique is taller than average and inherited the tall genes from both sides of her family. Sometimes this is a blessing - she looks good in most clothes and stands out from the crowd - but sometimes a curse if she gets teased for it.

Build: Smaller than average, Dominique has the slim build of her French mother, although she has to work hard to maintain it. She just wishes she was a little curvier with it.

Eyes: A deep, clear blue with barely a fleck or cloud of other colour to be seen. It has the effect of making Dominique seem like she's looking straight through you.

Hair: Much to her own chagrin, Dominique inherited the red Weasley locks rather than the Delacour blonde ones. However, she is rather proud of her flaming red mane - she looks after it well, and it (with a little help from certain potions and charms every morning) is glossy, shiny and thick, with a vibrancy to it that comes only from being bothered about such things.

Skin: As a redhead, she was never going to be a bronzed goddess. Instead, her skin is milky white, with barely any freckles, and clear. She got through her teenage years without many spots, thank Merlin.

Wardrobe: She ALWAYS looks clean and presentable. If nothing else, her mother taught her that well. She isn't the most fashion forward girl around, but she knows what colours and shapes work well with a girl of her height, weight and colouring, and as such looks good when she puts in the effort. For work, she wears well tailored classic trousers and shirts with plain black or navy robes on top, accessorising perhaps with delicae jewellery and tied back hair. At home, she wears well-cut jeans and body-hugging t-shirts - not to look slutty, but to be form-fitting enough that she doesn't look swamped and scruffy.

Distinguishing Features: A dark birthmark on the back of her neck, just high enough to be covered by loose pieces of hair when she piles it up in a bun.

PLAYBY: Courtney Halverson
WAND: Elm, unicorn tail hair core, 12.5 inches. Swishy, but not malleable. Good for spells relating to awareness of the world around us.

BOGGART: Wolves of any kind, particularly werewolves. She can't understand the idea of them being beautiful when she sees them as ruthless killers.

PATRONUS: Although not entirely corporeal, she can produce a Patronus in the form of a Stone Marten.

LIKES: Being inside, testing her own intellect, her family, and having alone time. Oh, and Honeydukes chocolate. Nothing fancy, just a plain bar of the milk stuff.

DISLIKES: Noise, clubbing, getting drunk and bad manners. She also thinks that Quidditch is massively overrated.

STRENGTHS: Magically, Dominique is able to think quickly and astutely, going to the heart of a problem and seeing what step is required next. She is also excellent with numbers and has a good head for finance.

WEAKNESSES: She isn't the most openly cheerful of people, and those who aren't close to her might think she is a little cold. She is sometimes lacking in courage - perhaps unusual for a Weasley - but she is fiercely loyal to them to make up for that fact. (Oh, and she comparatively sucked at DADA and Transfiguration, but we don't talk about that.)
DETAILED PERSONALITY:
Ravenclaw Geminis are geniuses of communication. They debate ideas, write brilliant treatises, teach exciting classes, read large numbers of books on a regular basis, and study arcane languages. Because Mercury the planet is associated with the alchemical substance of quicksilver, the god Hermes (the messenger of the gods, and the conductor or dead souls to the Underworld), and the historical founder of alchemy, Hermes Trismagistus, many Ravenclaw Geminis also excel at the study of alchemy. These Ravenclaws are some of the best and most brilliant of their class, but they need to learn to finish the projects they start, and to differentiate between what is viable and what is best left as a "really great idea."

There is a good reason for Dominique finding a home in Ravenclaw rather than the traditional Weasley home of Gryffindor - her natural verbosity, instead of reflecting a love of persuasion and emotional communication, is directed towards her love of ideas and passing them from one intellect to another. She is brilliant indeed, but this was not always reflected in her academic grades as the topics on hand did not always meet her personal interests.

Most people's first impressions of Dominique - after 'God, there's no mistaking she's a Weasley' - are surprise that she is quiet and reserved compared to her more outgoing family members and siblings. She has been mistaken for being French before, as she takes after her mother somewhat in personality and genteel deportment, but this doesn't mean she is incapable of being outspoken when the need arises.

As a family member, she has a sense of duty towards her siblings and extended family which affects her relationships with most of them. As a child she did as she was told, and as an adult she does what is right, even when she is less inclined to do so.

As a friend, she is the responsible one who will try and dissuade you from reckless endeavours and encourage you to act like a proper grown up, but she cares for her loved ones more deeply than what she shows on the surface. She is capable of great generosity and is a great hostess.

She is resolutely single, having never had a boyfriend, but she is open to the idea if the right man comes along. She has only just hit her twenties, after all, and at this stage in her life Dominique feels that establishing herself in her career is more important in the long term.

As a work colleague, as a result, you couldn't wish for a more diligent or more organised co-worker. If she needs to get something done, it gets done and done well. She meets deadlines, is a whizz with the filing AND is one of the only human staff members who speaks Gobbledegook, meaning that she gets on well professionally with all the bank members of staff.
HISTORY: The middle of three children, Dominique was born in her parents' home outside of the village of Tinworth on the south coast - Shell Cottage, a beautiful, homely building with a view of the sea. Her first and second names both having connotations of faith - her sister's being of hope and victory following the war - Dominique grew up reflecting her naming, being the more soft spoken, less boisterous child. Still, she always took great advantage of living where she did, spending time on the beach looking for interesting shells and stones, playing in the surf, or spending time on the sand with a good book (something she still enjoys doing to this day).

She also grew up as part of a large extended family, with many group dinners and play sessions at The Burrow, the country home owned by her loving grandparents. Dominique adores both Molly and Arthur, who treated each of their grandchildren with the fuss and attention their parents could not give them whilst working. One of the shyer Weasley grandchildren, she has very fond memories of the The Burrow, a place where she always felt safe - even on days when George, Ron, Percy and Ginny Weasley all brought their children along too. Dominique preferred being in large social groups, being able to blend in and escape.

Her first sign of magic came at six years old, one New Year's Eve at Shell Cottage. Not at all keen on the idea of going to bed before midnight - wanting to stay up and enjoy the 'sophistication' of a grown up party, she threw a tantrum which caused her mother's long blonde hair to stand up on end - something which she is still teased about to this day, tantrum or not.

Hogwarts was a happy time for her. Despite her initial worry about not being sorted into Gryffindor with the rest of her family - something her parents did their best to reassure her about - Ravenclaw quickly became a second home. She loved everything about it - the riddles one had to answer to get in, the numerous books one could find in the common room on all sorts of non-school topics, and being in a place where you could talk about serious things without being labelled 'sad' or 'geeky'. She did not take to Quidditch as many of her family members had done, instead thriving at more individual pursuits such as wizard's chess.

Starting second year was a little daunting as by now her big sister had left school, but getting to know the Potter children and her Weasley cousins meant that she never felt entirely alone. Dominique began to do well academically, spending more time studying than she would have needed to do, and passed all of her OWLs - though she was less than pleased about her grades at DADA and Transfiguration. True, she had gone to pieces in both exams and everyone gets nervous, but there was something about each subject that she just couldn't get a good handle on. She can't figure it out, which she finds incredibly frustrating, and does NOT like to talk about it, thank you.

Still, it meant that she was allowed to take on subjects that she was best at for her NEWTs, in which she did better. She still feels that she could have got better grades - she is much better at making things and spellcasting than the grades suggested - but she is trying to be less fussy and bitter about these things and accept the fact that she got where she wanted to be with what she had. Following the end of her 7th year, she was taken on by Gringotts Wizard Bank - something of a tradition for this section of the family, as her parents and Victoire all had jobs there - where she began to train in magical accountancy. Dominique loved her new life, as she took to the new challenge of learning Gobbledegook and examining the records of what each curse breaker and treasure hunter did upon their return to London. Part of her job involves speaking with the goblins in their native tongue - which they appreciate, as it allows for secrecy from being overheard by most wizards - though she sometimes thinks they can sense the part of her that is not human, and wonders if this is why she has their trust.
