Just a book meme. :)

1. Name five of your favorite books:

Oh god...these are in no particular order. I should do this again in a few years and see if anything has changed.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë (I can't explain how much I love this book. Jane, the Roch, ugh.)
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers (I lovelovelove her. I only wish there was more.)
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov (Humbert's gorgeous language against his godawful acts...)
Demian by Herman Hesse (I'm still not sure exactly what I think of this book, but I remember it as quiet and thoughtful.)
American Gods by Neil Gaiman (I absolutely loved it.)

2. What was the last book you bought? and 3. What was the last book you read?

Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks. It's about how music affects the brain, it was fascinating. Our brains are something else, really.

4. Last five books that have been really meaningful to you (no particular order).

I'm cheating, some of these aren't recent reads. :/

His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman (the first series I read that really made me question just about everything.)
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov (he's back! Such gorgeous writing, such horrific scenes. Oh, Nabokov.)
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell (to be an honest, just finishing it felt like an accomplishment to me, but I loved every second of this book.)
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (it hits you right in the chest. "On ne voit pas bien qu'avec le cœur, l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.")
The Tent by Gary Paulsen (I went in not knowing what to expect at all. A beautiful short story about faith.)

5. Name three books you've been dying to read but just haven't gotten around to it:

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (bought it, it got wet and ruined. Need to buy another copy.)
The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux (reallyreallyreally want to read this)
Grimm's Fairy Tales by the Brother Grimm (I'm a little ashamed I haven't read this yet, I've had it for a while.)
