Hello Kitty!
These came out around the time of the original Tamagotchis. They are by Sanrio, the company that produces Hello Kitty collectibles. The aim of the game is to get Hello Kitty ready for her big date. Depending on how she starts out, you need to either help her lose weight or gain weight. She also needs beauty sleep or her date will think she's ugly. If you don't take care of Hello Kitty's needs, her date will reject her and she will never get a boyfriend. I have never played this the whole way through because I found the whole concept to be a little silly and confusing. That said, the Hello Kitty is cute, so whatever floats your boat. Also, you can't find these in English. They are only in Japanese I think. Which makes things even more confusing lol Oh well, it's a nice addition to my collection.

My sister got this for about $12 I believe. She gave it to me so I'm not entirely sure. Right now I see one on eBay for $65. They are kind of rare, so I don't think you'll find them very often.

Iro-Iro (Japanese Family Tamagotchi)
The Iro Iro Tamagotchi is the Japanese version of the Familitchi, also known as the v5 connection. I've been playing with this one for awhile and it is very similar to the American v5. They have the exact same characters, exact same animations, exact same items/foods, and exact same games. Usually Japanese are very different from American tamagotchis, but in this case they are VERY similar. The only real differences I know of is that the beeping noises are a bit softer, and there is not vacation pause feature. You have to pause like all the other Japanese Tamagotchis, simply by leaving the time in "SET" mode. The outer design is different in that the antenna has been replaced with a lock and key. This makes sense to me because it is a "keychain pet", after all. Some of the Japanese shell designs have also carried over to America which pleases me :) It also comes with a DVD, which I have not been able to figure out because everything is in Japanese and I simply don't have the motivation to look up instructions. Another feature I really love about the v5 and Iroiro is that they have contrast adjustment for the screen. Pretty cool!

I bought mine with the Tamagotchi CD for computers for about $52. They are significantly cheaper now, going at $27-29 with a disc. A really great addition to one's collection of Connection Tamagotchis.

Keitai (Japanese V2)
The Keitai Tamagotchi is Japan's V2. It connects to cell phones and has many similar characters to our V2. The most noticable difference between the Japanese v2 and the other versions of v2 is that the Japanese has an antenna, symbolizing the fact that it can connect to your phone. After this one came out most of the newer versions afterward had antennas. I decided to get a Keitai even though I already had an Akai because I wanted one without red pixels but with the same old version of Mametchi :D

Unlike the American v2, it does not have a shop, but a salesman that comes to visit 3 times a day to sell you items. You can choose whether or not to buy them. If you buy them the salesman is happy. If you decline his offers he gets sulky and walks away sadly.Another feature I really enjoy is the alter feature. When your tamagotchi dies and you start it over by pressing a and c buttons simaltaneously, there is a record kept of the previous tama. Go to the list (it's in japanese) that shows the list of dead tamagotchis. There you can select a tamagotchi to pray too. When your character prays to the dead tamagotchi, it is safer in the future. If the grim reaper tries to get your current character, all you have to do is quickly go back to the list and select the character your current one prayed to. The old dead character will come back to life and save your Tamagotchi from the grim reaper! Also if you donate enough points to the king you will get a lucky Unchi-kun to clean up your characters poop. It's pretty funny.

Morino (Japanese Forest Tamagotchi aka Forestgotchi)!
The Forest Tamagotchi, also known as the Mori No, is a motion sensitive Tamagotchi much like the Ocean and Angelgotchis. This one is different though in that there are two growth chart possiblities since there are two different eggs you can choose from at start-up. The foods also change depending on the character. I really like the designs of this one. It's a pity they didn't release it in America!

I got mine for $37 and you can still find them at this price. They currently run for around $45-65. Prices have gone up sadly :( There are always about 2-5 or more on eBay at any given time.
