[09 Jan 2013|01:27am]
Salad and stir fry. GK fixed up two plates of each and set some in front of Eli. "So I was wondering, would you like to go to the movies tonight?"

Come let's mix where Rockefellers walk with sticks or umbrellas [08 Jan 2013|11:49pm]
It was another child welfare charity. Their request had conflicted with Uncle Jed's latest business trip, and he'd asked GK to bring the massive amount of stuff he was donating. Nobody else could make it, so GK showed up alone with the messenger envelope under one arm and his swordstick under the other -- having dressed to the nines to match it, of course.

AU Meme: Different Ethics [27 Nov 2012|01:09pm]
They'd started small -- for a given definition of 'small,' when you've got money and talent and a creepy connection or two -- but it hadn't taken long to grow. When you know the things someone wants to get or to keep, all you have to do is make a few offers and make a few threats -- and the threats always came through when necessary -- and it didn't take all that long before the Triangle was no longer a convergent war-zone of three different criminal syndicates. It was the private criminal turf of a prissy young blueblood with an antique cane ... and the person who made sure that even with his ridiculous countertenor giggling, GK got taken seriously.

GK was at his desk at the moment, rereading one of his mother's history books about the kind of places where organized crime had developed into the most reliable form of local law enforcement, of community organizing. She'd always taught him to do what he could giving back, after all.

Elevator Meme [01 Oct 2012|02:49pm]
A simple shopping-center elevator. Because of course they kept the perfect stuff for split-end prevention in a little shop on the third floor, and he already was carrying stuff.

So was the other person who got on, who was... "Dear deities-of-choice, I love your hair."

Road Trip Meme: Zoe [13 Jun 2012|11:04pm]
To the extent that GK Walker knew how to drive, he knew how to drive in the rain. He was from Seattle, after all. However, a little ways into this trip up to Seattle to hear Uncle Jed and Zoe's Mom's big news ... "Zoe, it's starting to get a lot worse."

Meme. [05 May 2011|09:54pm]
List one of your characters, and one of mine, and pick either:

1)Friendship
2)Their first date.
3)Future.
4)Their first time.
5)AU/Possible children(please pick either or as I won't do both)

And I'll list 5 facts about any of them.

GK's place. [23 Mar 2011|01:15am]
A basement apartment on Union Avenue, Star City, California.

Tiny windows line the top of the walls, and bright lights line the vanity set over the small chest-of-drawers. The only other furniture in the room are a comfortable bed with an excessively old and battered Piglet doll atop the soft grey comforter, and a huge antique Victorian dollhouse, multiple stories and four feet high, behind which was a hook on which GK always hung his swordstick.

During the BL Expansion [19 Mar 2011|02:07am]
As the trouble got worse and worse, GK tried to keep checking on the Triangle. The zombies seemed a bit more focused uptown still, at least. But the reports were getting too much for anyone to ignore. Michelle Torres, if she was anything worth Zoe asking him to watch out for her, would probably be worrying about Zoe in turn.

So he texts the lawyer. This time, he doesn't do anything to hide his number. Texting was the only option. If they talked, she'd want to speak to Zoe, who was with the Green Lanterns. Fortunately, she'd probably just assume texting was the best reception could manage right now.

Damn it, why was it so hard to find the punctuation marks on these things?
Ms Torres, Zoes OK. Streets just not safe. Zoe's friend, GK Walker.

'Words like a sliver of glass working their way to the heart' [03 Mar 2011|02:48pm]
"No, I... I'm not even in drag."

Real dignity-saving answer, GK. He should have used his father's line. His mother'd had so little to tell him about Jack Holdaway, so she'd told him everything. Right down to the "How very perceptive" crack when she found out about his boyfriend. Of course, that kind of sarcasm wouldn't have hurt Joey the way it hurt Mom. Mom had cared; Joey couldn't.

But Joey at least seemed sorry about it. GK wondered, sometimes, if his father had regretted hurting Rose Walker, or only regretted getting caught. Probably the latter. Prissy, smooth-talking coward. Good riddance.

Spring Schedule. [15 Feb 2011|11:18pm]
GK smiled as he reviewed the agenda for the Spring season at the theater.

Premiering March 4: Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance.

One Night Only March 25: Zachary Zatara

Premiering April 29: Webster's The White Devil

He could do fake blood real nice. Of course, the costume ladies were all making jokes with him about his 'fabulous libretto' for Pirates.

"Was your Mom a fan, Gilbert?" the asked. He laughed his prissy countertenor laugh and said. "Not especially. She named me after a friend."

Knight-Erranting. [05 Feb 2011|04:03pm]
If he could manage here, he could manage anywhere, Gilbert had decided.  So here he was, in the triangle, handcuffing some battered jackass to a fire escape while checking on his victim. "You okay, Miss"

"Um....yeah, the girl said weakly as she started to stand up.
"You need me to call 911 or something? Did he hurt you?"
"He hadn't yet. And boy, you think a 911 call could get out here quick?"
"Am I making it obvious I'm not from around here?" He asked sheepishly. "Still, there's the police report and all..."
"I'll... I'll deal with it later. Home first."

"You don't know who you're messing with, freak," the aggressor snarled.
To Hurt The People In Front Of Him
"...Your vocabulary is stunning."
