Prometheus was chained to a rock by Zeus because he had stolen fire, light, from the gods and given it to human-kind. An eagle came to eat his liver every day, only to have it grow back and to be eaten again the next day.

Gods are primitive. Gods are cruel

So, I thought, maybe that is what happened with Lucifer, the bearer of light, in that other primitive mythology.

History is written by the victor. To justify his cruelty he has to vilify his vanquished opponent.

Then I thought: Nah, they're all crude, invented stories.
