Order of the Phoenix
It was best to take matters into his own hands. The Order of the Phoenix had been infiltrated, and to calm the nerves of its members, Albus was going to meet with each one to manage a questioning of sorts. Auror Longbottom had used the word 'interrogation' but until he could find answers, Albus was going to believe in the group he had put together. While he wasn't naive, he did know how easily people could be corrupted, he had faith in the members of the Order, knowing that they had all always shown great strength when it came to making choices between right and wrong.

He sent out a patronus to one member at a time, not wanting to create a crowd in the house for that would only cause to build more tension. Dumbledore knew that the war did not seem to be turning in their favor, but while he was a man who loved to find answers, he always had a faith that would allow him to do so. He sat in the kitchen area, going over some final reports that his professors had finished while he waited for the next Order member to arrive.

The tentative footsteps approached the table and Dumbledore kept his head bowed for a moment before lifting his gaze up to meet the next Order member.

"Have a seat. Would you like a lemon drop?" He pushed the candy dish across the table.

EMERGENCY LATE NIGHT PATRONUS
It is never my intention to startle you all, but I have come under the impression that recent events are just the beginning of attacks on the children of our members.

If you feel that your houses are not warded up to your standards you and your family are more than welcome to reside at headquarters until the wards are fixed.

Gilly
Ed trudged up the front steps of the new house that he and Gilly were currently residing. He and his wife had just finished decorating and putting everything where they thought it ought to be, and any other day, he would've spend a good few minutes admiring their good work. Now, however, he might as well have stumbled into a shack - he was blind to it all today.

Marlie McKinnon, Matt McKinnon, Deidra McKinnon, Melinda McKinnon, Olivia Whitehorn-McKinnon, and Marco McKinnon were dead. His cousin, his aunt and uncle, and a cousin-in-law. He had been close to all of them, especially Marlie. They had been chosen to be invited in the resistance group, the Order, they had gone to school together. To him, she was another sister, another sister that irritated and teased him, yet she had been as close as a friend. He had loved her, but really, who didn't love her? She was one of the bravest, loving souls he had known. His emotions tore him apart, when he had heard, he had initially refused to believe it. Marlie was an actress, a perfect cover for an Order member. Yet that didn't save her, as they had targeted the entire family. When he learned that the news was indeed true, he had broken down, sobbing. Who would he patrol with? Who would tease him or dare him into silly pranks just as if they were back at Hogwarts?

His throat tightened; he was done with tears. Everyone had grouped at the Order house to console each other, but no one really knew what to say; everyone had the same expression of their face - of mingled shock, rage, and deep sadness. He hadn't visited his sister or brother - Mia, he knew, would be especially torn up. Melinda had been her best friend. And Vinny - he had been Marlie's fiance. He couldn't even imagine what he was going through right now.

In all his life, he couldn't recall feeling this kind of helplessness, this kind of pain. He wanted to see the fucker who had killed his family dead. No, a simple Avada Kedevra would be too easy. He knew Travers in school - he had known that he and Marlie always had an animosity throughout school, but for him to kill the entire McKinnon family? No, Ed wanted to see him get what he deserved. He wanted him to feel what Marlie, Deidra, Matt, Melinda, Auntie Olivia, and Uncle Marco had probably felt during their last hours. Silently shutting the front door behind him, he cradled his hurt hand briefly. The hour after he had learned the news of the McKinnons had passed in a blur - he remembered punching the wall in the front corridor. The hole was still there.

"Gilly?" he called out hoarsely. Jonathan had taken her earlier, but now he desperately needed to see her. "Gilly, where are you?"

Order
James sat in the corner of the Order house's living room, bending his shoulders in to fit against the walls. With his knees up and head pushed as far back as he could, it seemed that he was literally trying to disappear between the cracks, to become one with the stagnant, unfeeling wall. He couldn't hear the soft murmuring that was going around the house, he'd tuned himself out of that what felt like ages ago. If he dared pay attention again, it would only force him to listen to the crying and horrible mutterings of the rest of the Order. The only reason he'd left the house was to await any sort of news from the Longbottoms, who had apparently come up with a valid way to capture Travers, the fucking bastard---

"James."

His eyes lifted to stare up at Emmeline Vance, who was far too dressed up to be here.

"Why are you wearing that?" he muttered. She looked down at the green dress and sighed, pulling at the ponytail that looked like it'd been done and undone a hundred times.

"I was at Jugson's wedding when--everything."

"Oh." James looked down and across the living room to try and garner the other members' faces. He didn't want to deal with them, but felt this unnerving need to. "What?" he asked when Emmeline didn't move.

"I took a calming serum from the basement," she said quietly, "for--Anneliese, my friend? She's--Jugson, and...pregnant, and--"

"Fine."

He watched her twitch and then she turned to cross the room again, and James' gaze dropped back down to the ground. What the hell did it matter, anyway? Not like they did any sort of good any more, the Order. They'd let one of their own get taken, right out from under their noses. What was the point?

Order!
"Say cheese!"

Alice set the camera on its timer and rushed forward to slide under Frank's arm. The room filled with a chorus of 'CHEESE' and a loud grumbling of 'No' as the flash nearly blinded everyone in the room.

"Goodness, Alice," Emmeline Vance mumbled, pressing her hands into her eyes. Alice blinked a few times to try and rid her vision of the rainbow-colored spots and hurried (well, stumbled, wow--that flash was very bright) back to the camera to catch the picture as it fell out of the front. Swiftly, she held it up to watch it come into focus and instantly her vision was cleared. Oh, see. They were such a lovely bunch, even if a few of them hated each other.

You were allowed to hate someone and still look lovely together, Alice believed.

"Okay! Well!" She waved her free hand around, anyone who wanted to look at the picture (though she could probably make copies! Ooh--) could come up and snatch it away from her...not without a fight, of course, "Food is---"

Alice watched as the group immediately dispersed toward the food and drinks and other activities she and Frank and Marlie had managed to set up in the Longbottom's rather expanse backyard. Yes, the Order, while amazing crime fighters, also had the keenest sense of of smell and taste--or was it just they were really hungry?
