John
Her husband had not come home Saturday night.

He had not come home all of Sunday, either, and it was now early into the morning of Monday that Matilda Mulciber was sitting in her parlor, exhausted from the hysteria she had been in for the past two days. She'd listened to the horrifically detailed wireless reports about the peace rally, and knowing (but not actually knowing) that her husband had in fact been at the event caused her to have great anxieties. What if he was hurt? What if he'd been caught? Matilda had gone through the worries and scares of her husband's duties numerous times, but he'd always come home to her, battered and bruised but alive. So, where was he now? She hadn't dared spoken to his mother, as it was an unwritten rule to behave as if nothing was wrong or out of the ordinary when something like this occurred. Matilda couldn't recall the longest John had ever been incapacitated for...the earthquake last year, perhaps, but that had not been his own doing...

The door opened sharply as if the person on the other side was doing a thorough search through the house. Matilda screamed, thinking it was an auror or---"John!"

She leaped up from her seat and rushed to her husband, flinging herself around him and holding him to close to her as possible, "Oh, John! Don't do that to me!" she scolded tearfully, burying her face into his chest.

Evan!
It was a rare day in Matilda Mulciber's life. There were no house duties to get done, Johnathan was spending some time with his grandparents, and John was busy at...work. Matilda wasn't sure which 'occupation' her husband actually meant, but she never questioned him when it came to that sort of thing. She would simply wait for him to come home, and that was when she figured out what her husband had been up to.

Not something she really wanted to think about. Today was a free as a bird kind of day, and Matilda was going to use it to visit one of her dearest friends in Evan Rosier. It had felt like years since she and Evan had had a sit down. What with the enormous fight Mackenzie had caused between all of the '77 Slytherins, it felt like, for the first time, they had to walk on eggshells around each other. Matilda had refused to even acknowledge Mackenzie or Emmet, and while she knew Evan had some ridiculous soft spot for her former best friend, Matilda would just blame it on some unrequited love thing he'd had long developed.

"Evan!" Matilda let out loudly as she knocked, "Evan, dear, I have baked goods I need to set down!"

Baked goods that she had bought from a bakery around the corner, but that detail did not matter! She bounced slightly, glad to be out of the house.

WWN BREAKING NEWS - #2
UPDATE! - An hour and a half after the initial report

"Diagon Alley is in a state of emergency, an earthquake has hit and shaken everyone and thing to its core. The Ministry of Magic has shut its doors---only aurors, hitwizards, and other authorized personnel may enter. Victims rescued from the Ministry will be sent directly to Hogwarts.

St. Mungo's is in a similar state; they are taking injuries off the street, but are overflowing and understaffed. Please, any retired healers, nurses, or medi wizards, your expertise is needed. Some overflow of St. Mungo's patients are being relocated to various wizarding locations outside of London, stay tuned for more information on that.

This day just keeps getting weirder-----tornadoes have struck various locations across the United Kingdom. Lanchashire, Bristol, Dublin, Hogsmeade, and Essex are currently reporting tornado strikes.

No---no casualties have been announced, as of yet. Hopefully it stays that way.

Sid--I'm just going to keep talking until you respond.

CHARACTERS INJURED 1-4 CAN RESPOND IMMEDIATELY! This will be updated as time goes by/we stop feeling evil

The Halloween Ball! --Posted for Friday!
In all of her years at Hogwarts, in all of her years being a prefect and working on a team full of the best students in Hogwarts, Phoebe Smethwyck had never been as impressed as she was right now as she stared around the Great Hall. Illuminated with candles in all shapes and sizes (and colors, a nifty charm a sixth year had found), the tables surrounding the dance floor were decorated with pumpkins, spiderwebs, and fall leaves, creating a spooky, yet beautiful design. The Ghosts of Hogwarts had volunteered to mingle more than usual (she thanked Nearly Headless Nick profusely, and promised to hold him a belated Death-Day party), captivating the guests with stories---how much truth they held, she couldn't be sure, but they were interesting nonetheless.

The band was a new kind of wizard rock, a bit more political than the Hobgoblins, W.O.A.R. There had been a lot of discussion at the prefect meetings about whether or not they should try and book them, but at the end of the day the naysayers (read: the Slytherins) were outvoted, and the band with the hit song "Do You Believe in M.A.G.I.C" was creating an incredible atmosphere.

So---people looked happy. They were laughing, smiling, and just---happy. Not something Phoebe felt like the wizarding world had been in a long time, and she was glad to be a big part of it.

Now, if only she could find a reason to be happy, herself.
