Practice
Giovanna showed up at the room they'd arranged for Sengai. She'd leant him some recordings of news footage that helped illustrate key points in the mutant-human situation -- showing mutant monsters like the False God as well as the ignorant human mobs. Andrew wanted even-handedness; she could do even-handedness. She knocked.

"Good." She steps close, green energy flickering across her blue eyes as she lets it build.

She doesn't grab his hands until she's ready, but she does so rather quickly and firmly for someone who forbid Andrew to touch him. But that's Andrew. His safety has to be held to a different standard.

But once she does grab his hands, the flash of green engulfs them both, and they're in the exercise rooms of Andrew and Giovanna's building, which she's made sure they'd have to themselves.

When they arrive, Sengai's eyes are glowing brighter than any flashlight. Energy is visibly coursing through his body. His head is throbbing , this was more than he'd ever felt, and it was painful. He tried to go through his old calming exercises. He'd learned he could make things from the energy and thus he did so here. He extended his hands and let the energy out so he could mold it. The release was intense, he hoped Giovanna had been prepared. When it was done, a woman of green energy appeared in front of them, stautuelike. She appeared older, wearing the simple garbs of a village woman. Sengai breathed a little easier, focuses on what the image represented.

	Gio had figured he'd need an outlet and given him some space once they got there. She had to sit down and rest, anyway. Teleporting a second person was always quite tiring, but this was worse than usual. So she sat and watched him. He'd managed to sublimate it. 	He was breathing heavily as he began to catch his breath. The kind image of his mother helped as it brought back memories of comfort from his first outbursts. She laughs, "Well, yes, but I mean how he taught me. Of course he showed me how to concentrate all the psionic energy into shields when I first started manifesting, but they're very difficult to maintain perfectly, and ingrain that kind of imposing mental structure as a habit. So we worked on it every morning during sword practice. He kept coming at me physically, and he kept coming at me psychically. I had to constantly keep at it until the concentration became subconscious instead of a struggle. I think sparring's a good opportunity to engrain new habits."

	"Hand-to-hand was the normal state of practice, though my father did make it a point to teach me how to use his preferred weapon. He regretted not being able to show me more diverse styles." Eventually, Gio stands up and stretches a little. "All right. The immediate goal will be hand-to-hand sparring while avoiding your abilities as much as possible. If too much builds up, we can simply, as the Americans say, 'time out' so you can sublimate it. Ready?"
