in character.

FULL NAME: Pansy Odette Parkinson
NICKNAMES: Pans to those she is familiar and friends with. Parkinson or Pug-Faced Bitch to everyone else.
CHARACTER JOURNAL: [info]loveinidleness

DATE OF BIRTH: 27th July, 1980
CURRENT AGE: 18
BLOODLINE: Pureblood
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual. But does appreciate the female form... particularly her own.
FORMER HOUSE & YEAR: Slytherin - Sept. 1991 to June 1998.
OCCUPATION: Socialite
CURRENT RESIDENCE: Her parents' estate.
POLITICAL VIEWS: Pro-Ministry

PARENTS: Everett Parkinson and Concordia Parkinson (nee Warbeck)
SIBLINGS: None
FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS:
Concordia Parkinson (nee Warbeck) - Mother. Pansy's mother is the younger and less famous sister to Celestina Warbeck, the famous singer. She gets along well with her mother but considering the pair are very alike they sometimes have a clash of opinion and their arguments can become quite vocal. However, her mother is the typical pureblood society wife and a good role model - she just seems to lack a bit of aspiration to be better than what she is, in Pansy's opinion.

Everett Parkinson - Father. Pansy and her father are basically strangers. As she was growing up, he always seemed to have business to attend to and tended to leave his wife and daughter for long periods of time. Pansy didn't mind having an absent father because he always bought her gifts when he was home and because of her materialistic nature, her affections were easily bought.
MARITAL STATUS: Single

MAGICAL STRENGTHS: Despite appearances, Pansy is rather good at Potions. She'd have to be to make it into the NEWT class in that subject.
MAGICAL WEAKNESSES: DADA, Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures.
SPECIAL MAGIC ABILITIES: None
WAND: Ash, unicorn tail hair, 9 inches neat.
PATRONUS: Unable to cast one.
BOGGART: Herself penniless and outcast. She fears rejection.

Appearance.

PB: Lucy Hale.
Long dark hair that is almost black in appearance and cold calculating blue-green eyes that always hold a permanent look of judgement toward others. Pansy is quite pretty in her own way - thanks mainly to some correcting spells on her nose so it no longer looks pug but pleasantly upturned at the end. But she is by no means the prettiest girl in the room. It's the way that she presents herself that makes her stand out from the other girls and garner attention.

Pansy is only five foot two, but carries herself as though she is as tall as a supermodel. She almost always is wearing heels and her wardrobe consists of many fine dresses, skirts and tops. She absolutely loves to dress up and be girly but she has also grown out of wearing masses amounts of pink frills (*cough*Yule Ball dress*cough*). Pansy is also not oppose to wearing pants as she once used to be, as long as they flatter her.

Personality.

Pansy was the stereotypical 'mean girl' in school and not much has changed, really. She is highly opinionated and has views on just about anything, but she has learnt that there is a time and a place to announce such things. There are a select few that she will share just about everything with but she could count those 'close friends' on one hand. However, like a true Snake, she knows not to reveal all her cards to anyone and has a few secrets that she hopes to take to her grave.

She is not the brightest girl academically but did well enough in school to pass. But what she lacked in brains she made up for in charisma. Pansy was popular among her Slytherin peers and could have been regarded somewhat as their leader.

Pansy enjoys a good gossip and is not above spreading lies about someone if it would help her get ahead - or, at the very least, amuse her. She also likes to be the centre of attention and has a bit of a flare for the dramatic. If anyone were to tell her one of their problems (outside of her group of very close friends) she usually dismisses it as hers are far more important.

On the positive side, Pansy is quite a generous person when it comes to her close friends. She often buys gifts for them and makes time for them when they need her. Despite her cattiness toward those outside her circle, Pansy is a warm person once you get beyond the frosty exterior. Many write her off as a bitch but she grew up in a household where affection was a weakness and therefore it would take a lot of persistence on the other person's behalf to get her to open up.

Pansy is also ambitious and like any good Slytherin will do anything to achieve her goals. During school, she knew that if she wanted to be queen bee she'd have to attach herself to the most popular boy - that being of course, Draco Malfoy. Although they are no longer dating, Pansy still considers Draco a close friend. He was her 'first love' but really, who falls in love at such a young age? She'll always hold a bit of a soft spot for him but no longer sees herself as the future Mrs. Draco Malfoy.

LIKES: Being the centre of attention, spreading rumours, pretty things, romantic gestures.
DISLIKES: Being ignored, being told what to do, know-it-all Mudbloods.

History.

Born of the 23rd of July, 1980, Pansy was the only child of Everett and Concordia Parkinson, a rich older pureblood couple who had be trying for an heir for years only to end up with a daughter. However, despite being born a girl, she was never treated as someone of an inferior gender and was raised to take over the Parkinson fortune when the time came. Because of this, Pansy could never see herself becoming a subservient good little pureblood wife like her mother and her friends. She believed herself to be the start of a new breed of pureblooded women, ones that took charge and were equal to their husbands rather than just a trophy for them to hang off their arm.

Pansy's childhood was spent mainly with the children of her mother's socialite friends - all of whom had the proper breeding, of course. And it was clear from an early age that she was the natural born leader, able to charm others around her into doing her bidding and make it seem like it was their idea to do it in the first place. She was cunning and manipulative and when it came time for her to go to Hogwarts the Sorting Hat wasted no time placing her in Slytherin.

In school, Pansy adapted quickly and knew she'd have to claw her way to the top. Thankfully, most of those in her house were the children she grew up with and immediately seemed to fall into place. She loved the power that came with being the leader and took to belittling others outside her small group of friends - in particular, that know-it-all Mudblood, Hermione Granger. Pansy wasn't jealous of Granger, not at all, she just knew she was superior to the Gryffindor and wanted everyone around her to know it too.

(Note: could be subject to change if we get a Draco)
Pansy knew that to get ahead she'd have to make strong connections with people in power and in Slytherin house the person with the most power appeared to be Draco Malfoy. She became his friend very early on in their school careers - probably using each others power as leaders to get ahead - and soon the established themselves as a power couple. They began dating during their fourth year after attending the Yule Ball together. Her parents were highly pleased that Pansy had snagged herself a boy worthy of their princess.

In fifth year, she, along with Draco, became Slytherin's prefects and life never seemed sweeter. Of course, the fairy tale life ended in seventh year when Draco dumped her, finding his studies to be far more important. Pansy tried to pretend she didn't care and absolutely hated being ignored - especially by the boy she had thought she had grown to love. She became meaner than ever, lashing out at those deemed weaker than her. Her only confidant being her best friend Daphne.

Since graduation - which Pansy earned high marks in Potions, Astronomy and History of Magic - Pansy decided to travel for a bit. She didn't exactly need a career as her inheritance was more than enough to support her but she wanted to have some fun before settling into the life of an adult. She traveled to world's fashion capitals, Paris, Milan, New York. Pansy absolutely loved it but decided to head back home for the Halloween Festival and her father's birthday - which falls on the day before Halloween.

SECRETS
Pansy steals. Not big things, she is hardly a big-time cat burglar or bank robber. But she "souvenirs" things from shops. She figures that the type of shops she takes things from can afford to replace them anyway so why can't she just sample them? Personally, she feels she is doing the shops a favour because as soon as one of her friends sees her with something, they have to go buy it for themselves. It's like free publicity for the shop.

I adore her! And surely Adrian would remember her from school. If she ever needs a slightly twisted, secret-sharing friend, they do seem to match up :)

She always needs minions. (She refuses to call them friends unless they buy her pretty things) But yes, I can see them being all Slytheriny and twisted together.

And he'd always be willing to buy her things! What kind of gentleman would Adrian be if he didn't? :)
