Walden didn't see a point in lying to Rabastan. "No," he said. "He's more troll than he is human. I'm never sure of anything with him, except that he'll kill anyone who lingers in front of him for too long. That's how he operates. Shut up and let me concentrate on not getting us killed."
He pushed open the front door to the castle and stopped, staring at his father.
Walden Sr. glared at his son. "What do you think you're doing?" he asked. "Did I give you permission to play with my toys? It seems to me that you need to be taught yet another lesson, Walden. Maybe I should have kept your brother alive instead of you."
