Sylvia cracked a smile and tugged on Rath's tie until it was perfectly straight. "When you're looking this sharp, you could bribe the DJ to do anything" she said smirking with only a hint of sarcasm.

"Shouldn't I be saying that to you?" Rath asked with a grin, because Sylvia in her short bright dress stood out like a neon sign. "You'd probably have more luck than me. I know my manly charms are nigh irresistible, but the DJ is a guy."

He did pause and look around. "You solo too?" He asked, curiously. He had sort of spaced about this whole dance, and hadn't thought to ask anyone, but he figured girls usually cared for this shit more than he did.

"Well, you can say it if you like" Sylvia laughed, smoothing down her hair. Peering over Rath's shoulder she saw that the DJ was indeed a dude. "I don't know man, you're pretty swagged out. Maybe you can turn him" she joked.

Sylvia never really had a date for dances. Perhaps she was intimidating, but she never even got asked. Not that she would say yes anyway. "Babysitting some douchebag for a whole night?" She made a face of distaste and left it at that. Looking around, it certainly didn't look like Rath had a date either. "So what happened. Did you get turned down?" she joked again.

"You could definitely get the DJ to play some good music." Rath said with a grin, glad to hear her laugh. For some reason some people seemed to find Sylvia scary, but she'd always been nice to Rath. "Maybe, but I only use those powers on police officers when I get pulled over." He said mock solemnly, nudging her slightly. "I'm tell you. Go up to him and ask him to play something good and he will."

At the look of disgust on Sylcia's face, he laughed. "I see your point. Forget I asked."

When she asked what happened to him, he shrugged, palms up turned in a 'what can you do?' sort of gesture. "You caught me. I asked half the school and they all turned me down. Probably wasn't a good idea to send a mass drunk text." He tucked his hands in his pockets, shaking his head. "I just forgot about the dance is all. They're boring."

Sylvia rolled her eyes and grabbed some punch from a tray that went past. "Whatever. He wont play anything good because all the good stuff has at least ten cusses in it" she said matter-of-factly.

"You're too good for just one woman anyway" she joked, winking. "Boring as hell" she agreed. "There's usually at least one fight though, right? Maybe that will make it worthwhile."

"Probably true. But hopefully he'll start playing decent music. Anything with a good beat would do at this point." He paused, glancing over at her. "If that happens would you want to dance?" He had no problem dancing by himself, but it was definitely more fun with a partner.

He laughed at that, shaking his head. "You encouraging me to start gathering up a harem?" He joked.

"Usually. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. Maybe when they announce that king and queen shit. If not, we can get drunk at least."

Sylvia pretended to mull over his offer and then shrugged non-commitally. "How is your bump 'n' grind?" she joked, raising an eyebrow. She wasn't exactly one for dancing at school functions, but she thought Rath could at least be entertaining.

"I think a harem seems pretty classy" she mused, opening her purse and revealing a mini bottle of vodka nestled in her bag. "Why not start now?"

"Pretty decent. Sometimes there's more bump though, other times too much grind. You'll have to see it and let me know what you think." He joked. He liked to think he was a pretty dancer, at the very least.

At her suggestion, he laughed, taking out his mini water bottle full of vodka. "Now that is classy. Cheers then." He said, raising it as if to toast her.

"The grind is the tricky part" Sylvia teased. "I'll be the judge, bitches gonna be so jealous of your moves you're going to be drowning in pussy" she joked.

Sylv clinked her bottle with Rath's and downed a little of her vodka. "Yay, illegal drinking at school functions! My absolute favourite" she whispered.
