Alex stared into the mirror, meeting Charlie's eye for a moment before rolling her own and shrugging the arm away roughly. "Oh whatever, I don't even care what you do," she sighed dramatically. "I just try to look out for you, keep your best interests in mind when it comes to the company we keep.. and you just run around with common people. Bunch of riff-raff is what they are."

Watching the wiggling bottle, she grabbed it and quickly took a swig, making a little face at the burn. "Why else would I bring you in here? It's not like I came to lez out. Unlike you."

"I date guys too!" She protested, pouting at Alex. Charlie allowed her arm to be shrugged away, and the bottle to be grabbed out of her hand. Alex could be so bitter sometimes, and the taller girl never knew whether she wanted to say something or not. Alex was her best friend, the person that Charlie would follow to the end of the earth and back. This time around Charlie decided to just shrug it off, for the most part. Taking the bottle away from Alex, she kicked it back and took a long drink from it. Scrunching up her face at the burn, she wiped her mouth on the back of her hand, and shot the other girl a small frown.

"You know I appreciate how you look out for my Lexy," she continued, her eyebrows knitted in worry. "You're my best friend and everything. Just...no one really meets your standards, ever. It's hard sometimes, you know?"

"You date ugly guys," Alex informed her, scoffing a little bit. She allowed the taller girl to rob her of the bottle, just watching her closely as she drank. When Charlie wiped her mouth with her hand, Alex frowned right back. How barbaric, maybe she was spending too much time about Sommer and Dubinsky after all. Those two were the biggest goons that Alex knew of.

"You should," she agreed, seeming to actually hesitate for a moment when Charlie went on. It did cause her a momentary set back. Sighing heavily, she moved forward and reached up to put a hand on each of the blonde's cheeks, rather gently. "Honey, you know it's just because I have proper standards, right?"

Shaking her head, she went on. "There are just so few people in the world who are actually worthy of like.. anything. Sometimes even if you have the right family," she thought of her cousin Danielle immediately, "You can still be disgusting. It's not my fault that your other friends are tools, okay? I'm only doing what I know is right for you. Because you're my best friend, and I care about you. And what you do reflects on me. You wouldn't want people associating you with them, would you? Ugh, imagine!"

Charlie couldn't help but smile softly as Alex put her hands on her cheeks. She could tell that the shorter girl did care about her, even if the morals behind it weren't the highest. Alex had standards, she had since the first day that Charlie had met her. Over the years, she had just gotten used to Alex's impossibly high expectations of people, but she understood what Alex was saying about association. She knew it must be tied to the same part of the girl that insisted that Charlie say she was pureblood, it was just something that mattered socially.

Nodding at the smaller girl, she let her small smile turn back into a full fledged grin. She reached her free hand up and laid it over Alex's right hand, giving it a small squeeze. "You're right Lex, you're always right." She dropped her hand from Alex's, and wiggled away to take another drink of the schnapps. Enjoying the buzz that was now washing over her, she continued sipping at the bottle thoughtfully.

"So, who meets these proper standards then?" She asked, handing the bottle back to Alex, and turned her head in question. It was pure curiosity, that's what she told herself anyway. Of course she cared what Alex thought, and she wanted to impress her friend. She was still her own person though. It couldn't hurt to know the other girl's opinion, right?

"I always am," Alex agreed eagerly, without even a hint of modesty. She waited rather patiently for the taller girl to hand the bottle back her way, but practically snatched it from her once it was close enough. She gave the blonde an irritated glance when Charlie dared to question her standards, making Alex roll her eyes slightly.

"You know the sort of people," she replied, as if her friend were a little dumb for even asking. "No dirty blood, no losers, no stupid Roanoke bitches, no stuck up Quirank whores, no commoners. We can only be seen with the best people," the dark-haired girl went on, pausing for a moment to crack a self-satisfied smile. "That's why we're usually only seen with each other, of course."
