Michiko was glad that the weekend was finally over. It had been long, there had been way too many fights in such a short period, and it wasn't helping her feel any better. It was finally time to say "so long" to Mika and Akio though and she couldn't help the little bounce in her step. She stood, holding Yori's hand as they listened to the commencement speech when the explosion went off. Immediately she scooped her little brother up and started to take off, away from the panic but Akio's hand was on her shoulder.

"Where do you think you're going with him?" he asked, pulling her toward the parking lot. It was the only way for him and Mika to get off the grounds with Yori as they were muggles and there was only one way out.

"It's not safe!" Michi shouted. "I can take him some place safe!" she tried to rip away but Akio's grip was firm.

"You will do no such thing. He's coming with us!" Mika grabbed Michi's other shoulder and began to pull her with all her strength.

Yori was crying, he buried his head in her shoulder. "I don't wanna go Cocoa! Don't let them take me away! I scared!" He clung to her with all his might and Michi clung just as hard.

"We're not leaving with you. Neither one of us is," she said firmly.

The panic was all around them, people pushed past to get to their own cars so they could flee and professors were rushing around trying to help the injured. Michi caught sight of a fellow quodpot player cradling her arm, blood dripping from her fingertips. Michi brushed the back of Yori's head too keep his eyes down and comfort him all in one. Finally, a surge of passersby pushed Michi and Yori forward, forcing her to follow Akio and Mika.

She tried to fight the crowd but ended up at the main gate with her parents anyways. "Don't take him," Michi said as Mika fought her for the little boy. "I can protect him," she said, tears in her eyes. "You don't know what's out there..."

"Is this about my being non magical?" Mika asked, giving Michi a good whack across the head.

Michi winced but her grip remained firm. Distracted momentarily by her jiggling phone in her pocket she had to check. She sighed in relief, Hunter, and tapped back a quick reply with one hand. "We're gonna stay here with Hunt, we'll be able to take care of him."

"Michiko Anna Passos!" Mika shouted as Michi tried to fight the crowd trying to get out the gate. "If anything happens to him..."

Michi turned and glared at the woman. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself but thanks for the concern," she took off running with Yori in her arms. Looking around for Hunter or Mack. She needed to check in with them, to see them.
