Eddie giggled and made a face at Faith, putting her own syrupy hands up near her ears and crossing her eyes.

"Yeah, she's pretty awesome," Leland was practically beaming at the little girl. She really was his pride and joy, the only real family he had left.

He turned his attention back to Faith, grinning like a fool. "Oh yeah, I transferred in my sophomore year. I was a Shawnee."

Eddie smacked Leland with her moose. "Moosey pancake!" she demanded.

He laughed and and cut up some of his own pancake and put it onto her plate. "There. Is Moosey happy."

"Mmm-hmm," she nodded already shoveling the newly liberated pancake into her own mouth after pretending to feed it to the moose.
