Rath/Tatum

Rath had been worried about Tatum but he supposed that everything went well. Still, he was worried about the way it would effect her after she had turned the first time. She was always looking over others and taking care of other people, this time she really needed to focus on herself and if Rath knew his sister, she surely wouldn't be doing that.

After sneaking off for a smoke, he made his way back to the garden just in time for the last few songs. He still hadn't been able to catch her alone but spotting the familiar red hair he was determined to talk to her. He swooped in. "Darling sister, I hope you've saved a dance for me," he grinned, offering his arm out to her.

Rath/Tatum

In all honesty, Tatum hadn't really been doing much dancing at all that night. She was still feeling incredibly sore, the night before had been anything but a pleasant experience even if she knew it could have gone much worse. She was in pain, and she wasn't sure how she felt yet about what she had gone through, but no one else was hurt and that was the important thing. She also supposed that she might as well get used to it, since she knew that it was only one full moon of the many to come. She still had a long life ahead of her, hopefully, and a long road to go along with it.

She had mostly wanted to stay in and sleep tonight, but everyone else was going to the dance, and she and Mack had been voted into some position that involved walking in front of everyone. It was almost to make her not want to go at all, the horror of having to parade through all of their peers on some sort of display, but Mack had assured her that it was okay and she would take care of it. Sure enough, they had gotten to walk together, and as she saw Sera shuffling along with Sim and Apple with Hunter, she knew that her partner assignment could have been much worse.

It was an okay night all in all, if she ignored the way it hurt to lean to much to her left side, or the incessant ache in her ribs that felt sort of like she had stretched too far or too much. When Rath approached her, Tatum had only just been coming back out of hiding where she had smoked her own joint, and was currently scanning the crowd for any sight of Mack's back or head. Her brother was just as good though, and she quickly latched onto the offered arm, nodding her head. "Of course," she assured him. "But it's going to cost you.. and I'm all achy sore, so you have to lead."

Hesitating for a second, she then gestured down to the dress she was wearing. "And don't l-laugh at this.. get-up. Mom sent it, I didn't-- I m-mean, with dad and everything, I didn't.. w-want to hurt her feelings. It l-looks awful on me t-though, doesn't it? Like a.. mesh c-cupcake."

He spun her out onto the dance floor and began mindlessly swaying to the music. "I have to be the man?" he asked smirking as he took the lead. "Laaaaaaaaame."

"It's adorable," he smirked. "No one can pair kicks with a dress quite like you sis," he teased. "Pink is totally your color anyways."

He watched her for a moment, trying to trace any discomfort in her face. She looked tired, a bit paler than normal. He didn't even know where to begin. So how's being a werewolf treating you sis? Finally he couldn't stand the silence, he just sort of pulled her into a hug and sighed. "How was it?" he asked softly, his voice just above a whisper.

"I-Is that your way of tricking me into saying that you're 'the man' anyway?" Tatum asked, managing to keep herself steady evena as she was spun out. She quickly latched on once she was closer, a hand resting on each of his shoulders, as she looked over one and examined the crowd around them. "I don't even mind t-the pink, it's the.. everything else. What are t-these, sequins? Beads or something? I don't even k-know, it looks like I went to 1985, fought a Bedazzler, and lost."

Pouting just a little as he pulled her in, she leaned her forehead against his neck for a moment before looking up at him. "I dunno, it was.. bad, I guess. I don't r-really know for sure, it's-- well, I don't r-remember it clearly.. I don't think I'm s-supposed to. But it h-hurt like.. r-remember how I said I'd n-never have a kid because it l-looks too painful? Well, it was like.. way w-worse than I imagine that to be? Like, g-giving birth through my spine.. my back is killin' me."

She trailed off, biting her lip a bit. "Sorry that.. sounded like a p-pity party. I could be worse, right? I mean, I'm alive.. and w-we didn't hurt anybody.. and Sam's mom like, makes the best breakfast in the w-world so.. there's that?"

Rath laughed. "You damn well know it is," he said as they danced around. "They Bedazzled the shit out of you," he teased. "Where ever did you get this gossamer nightmare?"

He tried not to cringe as she described the ordeal she had went through. To be honest, he had been worried the whole night. He barely got any sleep at all. He figured she wasn't supposed to remember much about the transformation or her time as a wolf, at least that was what he had read about it. He only rested his chin on the top of her head and gave her a squeeze. "Damn T, you're one tough little bitch," he said admiringly. He was glad that she hadn't had to go through it alone. "I knew it wasn't going to be pretty but you had Sam and his dad, that probably helped," he said lightly. "Boy owes you a back rub if you ask me," he teased.

"You turned into a wolf last night, I don't think the words pity party are accurate," he whispered. "And hey, good breakfast, I know I'm jealous. Last time someone made me breakfast it was a bowl of cereal and some shit black coffee," he grinned.

He wanted to tell her he was glad she had made it back in one piece, glad she had made it back as his Tater twin, but he couldn't. There were too many raw emotions attached to the sentiment and he couldn't deal with them all, not in public. His joking and teasing was his way of letting her know that she was glad to have her back.
