Leaving her conversation with Rath behind, Tatum felt better and worse all at once. It was the most she had talked about the wolf since coming back from Sam's house, and it felt good to get off of her chest and explain to someone how it felt, but it was rather worrying still. Talking about it didn't change the reality of the situation any. It was her first moon, and there were a lot more nights where that came from.
Music had ended, and all of the people were dispersing from the dance inside of King's Hall as Tatum carefully maneuvered her way through the crowd, trying not to bump into anyone and avoiding trampling on any toes. There were a lot of flip-flop clad feet in the crowd. It was never hard to find Mack in a crowd, something she was always glad for, as she saw a familiar head of blonde hair above the other people up ahead of her. Reaching Mackenzie finally, Tatum sidled up beside her in the crowd of people still pushing to get out of the hall and back to their dormitories. "S-Sorry I j-just disappeared. Twin time," the redhead murmured, holding onto her girlfriend's arm at the crook of her elbow, as if for dear life as more people crushed in against them while they headed out the doorway. It was still crowded on the commons, but people were heading in different directions, teachers and staff barking at kids to go back to their rooms, that it was after curfew practically, and so on. "Wanna go f-for a drive? Like, before w-we go home," she asked suddenly, turning her head a bit to look at the older girl. "Your ass is r-riding shotgun, though."
She had stepped outside for a smoke when Tatum had disappeared. It had been nice to step out for a few moments and get some fresh air. The night had been way better than the last dance, especially because she wasn't waking up naked next to Hunter. She had been happy to see Tatum again after her trip to Sam's fathers and even though she hadn't been parted from the redhead long, nice to have a few quiet moments during the dance.
She had returned to the hall once the music had ended, figuring that Tatum would be looking for her soon enough. She said goodbye to a few people as they made their way out. Nodding to Marney and Apple as she saw them walk by as well as patting Emma on the head when she saw her being dragged out of the hall by a smirking Ruby. Not one of them however, was her redheaded girlfriend. She craned her neck a few times to try and spot the bright red hair. She didn't have to look much longer though, because soon she felt Tatum grip the crook of her arm. "It's fine." Smiling, she put the smaller girl in front of her so she could keep an eye on her and they made their way out to the commons. Mackenzie was a bit surprised when Tatum asked if she wanted to go for a drive, she would have assumed that the younger girl would be tired. She leaned over and pecked the girl on the cheek. "Sure babe," she said, lacing her fingers with Tatum's and giving her hands a squeeze. "Shot gun it is! I'll even let you drive the Rover if you like." She draped her jacket around Tatum's shoulders before taking her hand again and beginning to walk towards the parking lot. "What's up with the sudden urge for a drive?" She asked as they walked, glancing over at Tatum. "I thought you would'a been tired or, you know, worn out." She ran a hand through her hair and rubbed her thumb over Tatum's hand. "You okay T?" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
