Sunny never worried about setting up the tent or getting to work, as soon as they got to camp she was in her swimsuit and running toward the lake with Bastian's hand in hers, pulling him along. "Come on Bas!" she giggled as she ran. Every day she spent with him, she felt more and more confident in herself. It was nice for once.
Bastian had developed a persistent cough since last week when he had accidentally dropped a jar of powdered doxy droppings in his dorm room, but maybe it was the fresh air or the company of the coolest girl on campus, but he was feeling much better.
"Do lakes not carry many parasites that eat your brain?" he called after her, slightly worried as he jogged along side with a grin.
"Don't worry sniffles," she said reaching up to give him a little kiss on the lips. "If any parasites even look at you I'll scare them right out of the water!" she laughed.
"Are you feeling any better?"
"Oh yes! I feel much better just spending time with you. I am sorry for all the time spent blowing myself up lately." He looked a little sheepish as he kissed the top of her head and stepped into the water up to his ankles with a grimace. "It's not as cold as I was expecting!"
"Good!" she tried to ease in a little bit further, snuggling up to his side. "As long as you don't blow yourself up badly," she pouted a little. "I can take care of the little stuff like this but none of this sky high shit okay?" she poked his chest.
"Come on tough guy," she teased. "You can do better than that can't you?!"
"I will always wear my parachute should there be a risk of a big explosion" Bas joked, grabbing her hand and kissing it before wading into the water with a wrinkled nose.
"Good," she blushed as he brought her hand to his lips and couldn't help the little giggle that escaped. "You're such a gentleman. How did I get so lucky?" As much as she wanted to fling him into the water she urged herself to be patient, he had gone through his fair share of patience since they had been together. She slowly kept easing him into the water.
"Have you ever gone swimming in a pool?" she asked. "Sometimes people ease in because it's so much colder than the temperature of the air but if you just jump in, you get it over with quick and you don't have to suffer as long because your body gets used to it faster!" she explained. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
