Ben, of course, is someone Brian wishes he knew better, deep down. I think he mostly feels like an alien when it comes to his siblings, because they aren't anything like him in his head. He just wants them to like him ;;. and be safe. He's doing all this to keep you safe Ben. I'm pretty sure that he feels like he's mostly in Ben's way when they are around each other, so probably doesn't seek him out as much as he would Erica when something is wrong.
