Pirate had expected Vance to just stay with him, but the fact that he was striking out on his own made him even more drawn to the other wolf (as if it was even possible to be more drawn to him). Everything about Vance was what he wanted. He sighed and heaved himself up, slipping once but catching his balance quickly.
When his paws hit the snow, he breathed a sigh of relief and trotted after Vance.
