The affection Emmy always showed to Basil made him feel loved and safe. He supposed that was part of why they had chosen each other. The way they showed their love meshed well. He sat back in the seat, feeling more calm, though his thoughts were now able to flit to Vance. But he knew now that his friend was with Pirate he'd be okay.
He was reflective and quiet on the way home. His mood was almost bright though, full of relief. When they arrived back at the Haven, Basil got out of the car and headed inside. "We should just have a ball here. Everyone could dress up."
