With anyone else, Quillan would have immediately and fiercly defended Rex. But with Kellen, it just felt different. He was so--well, something that Quillan couldn't define just yet. They'd followed the wolf for awhile, learning his routines, and the way the man interacted with his son was lovely and sweet. Quillan hated thinking about it because it made him feel sick inside.
"Rex said they were attacked by wolves." The hunter knew what kind of people they were, but no one had told Quillan about it expressly. He didn't know that Oliver was a serial killer and Harris was his accomplice. "We're helping them. They'd captured one--and--and--that's what you're smelling." His voice faultered.
