open to moon
Joshua was back, but Logan hadn't seen too much of the other boy. They were avoiding eachother like the plague, and that seemed to suit Andrew's fancy just fine. Logan wanted to talk to Josh, but he was stubborn and he'd be damned if he made the first move. He had a strong feeling that Joshua was just as stubborn, and this was something that could go on for a very long time.

As he slipped into the mainhouse, he headed for the kitchen, and he knew instantly that Joshua was there. He was making a sandwich for Julian who was settled on the floor at Josh's feet, playing with my little ponies. That almost gave Logan pause, and he arched a brow as he looked down at the little boy. Where the hell had he gotten little ponies? Shouldn't he have like, cars, or GI Joes?

Still, Logan didn't say a word. He just walked right past them and went for the basement so that he could go downstairs to see Moon. When he got down there, he was surprised to see Moon wasn't there. He knew Hunter must have taken him out, so he just sat down on the little cot and decided to wait for the boy to come back. When he got antsy, he went back upstairs, relieved to see that Joshua wasn't in the kitchen anymore and he decided to make himself a snack to eat.

Moon was still under close supervision from Hunter and a few of the older wolves. Felix was with him now, having taken him into town to get a few clothes and a few new sets of sheets since he'd ripped through so many during particularly difficult shifts. Moon bounded into the house ahead of Felix, who was grumbling about too damn much energy. Moon was carrying one bag and before he'd thought to carry more, he was inside already, leaving Felix to lug in the rest.

The second he saw Logan in the kitchen and smelled food, his brown eyes widened. "Oh! Hello! I have new pants, do you want to see them?" He was in better spirits than he'd been during previous visits with Logan. Down in that cage, Moon felt so much different, scared and trapped except for when Hunter was down there with him, or Logan came to visit.

When Logan came into the kitchen, it was literally as if the sun started to shine for the first time that day. Sure, that was probably a little dramatic, but Moon honestly brightened Logan's mood considerably. He couldn't help but smile as he turned to look at the other boy as he wiped a bit of pizza sauce off of his lips with a napkin. He'd hopped up onto the counter, but he hopped down to go over and help take a bag from Moon.

"Sure," he said, "Who took you into town? Hunter or Wendell?"

"Felix did! It only took Hunter about an hour to tell him everything he needed to know. The whole time Felix was making faces at me while Hunter talked. I laughed, and I think Hunter knew what was going on. He's scary but nice." He really liked Hunter, even if the man could make him pee his pants with a single look.

Unbuttoning the pants he was wearing, Moon thought nothing of getting undressed in the middle of the kitchen. He stood there in a pair of briefs as he dug around in the bag to pull out his new pants. He wanted to model them for Logan.

Logan smiled softly. It was a good sign, a very good sign, that Hunter had let Moon go into town without him and under the supervision of another. It was a good sign that Moon was even standing in the kitchen with him, and Logan really hoped that the boy would have his own room in the main house soon.

"You know, you could have just showed them to me," he said with a laugh as he leaned against the counter and watched while Moon undressed. His eyes flickered over the exposed bit of skin and he wet his lips as Moon tugged his pants on. "Hopefully soon I can take you around, just you and me."

"I am showing them to you!" He corrected Logan. Jutting forward his hips, he buttoned up the fly and zipped up the zipper before spreading his arms apart for Logan to be able to see all of the pants that hung low on his hips.

Felix came inside, having just missed the show. "Oh, you get the model stance too. Doesn't he look like a flippin' GAP commercial?" He quipped wryly as he walked to set the bags on the island counter. "We just need Lenny Kravitz in here." He stuck his nose in one of the bags and pulled out a shirt for himself.

Moon was so different from Joshua that it was easy for Logan to push the other wolf out of his head when around Moon. Their energies were completely different, as was the way they looked. They were both very beautiful, but in such contrasting ways that it wasn't easy to compare them. Joshua was much more dominant than Moon, and a lot of Moon's more submissive qualities really appealed to Logan.

"Yes," he answered in response to Felix's question as a soft laugh escaped him. "So how was it in town for you?" he asked Moon, arching a brow curiously.

"Million smells, some foul, some good. I swear I smelled sopaipillas, but Felix said the Mexican restaurant wasn't that close by." Moon launched into an explanation of the days events as he started to forage for food. Leave Moon to his own devices for very long and he always resorted to scavenging what he could. It was how he'd survived for so long. He dug in the cupboards, not shy to stick his head in there and smell things. He still had so many qualities of the wolf right out in the open.

Pulling down a bag of flour, he smelled it more closely and then snorffled the white powder. Felix made a face and snatched it gracefully away from him. "Gross, kiddo." Not that anyone ever baked anything from scratch.

Logan reached over to snag Moon by the shirt, and he tugged him gently to the sink so that he could get a papertowel and wet it. He went about cleaning Moon's face up, getting rid of the white powder with an amused smirk on his lips.

"You look like a coke addict," he said with a quiet laugh. Once he'd cleaned Moon up, he swept his thumb across the boy's lower lip and then turned away to ball up the paper towel into the trash. He plucked up his plate which still had some pizza and handed it over to the younger wolf. "Here, eat this."

The thumb on his lower lip made Moon's body tingle and snap with the want to be closer to the other. He was going to lean in before the food was offered. At this point in his life, food would trump anything in the world and he took it as soon as it was in front of him. "Gracias!" he said brightly as he dug in.

Felix was supposed to keep a line of sight with Moon until he was back in the cage, but the boy had done very well controlling himself. "I'll be in the next room," he said. "Be careful," he pointed at the both of them. "Call me if you need something. I'll be back in twenty." He wanted to give Moon some freedom, and some time alone with the person who had found him.

Already done with the pizza, Moon made satisfied noises. He was in heaven right now. Limbs stretched, no bars, relatively full belly, and the scent of Logan so near.

Logan glanced over at Felix and offered a nod of his head, thankful for some time alone with Moon, even if it was only twenty minutes. It was nice to see the other boy outside of the cage, and he all ready looked so much better. Clean, well fed, in clean clothes.

"You look good," he told Moon, reaching over to squeeze his hip a little. "I can't wait 'til we can go running together. How does it feel now? Are you getting a better handle on it, do you think?"

"I can't wait either," he said and eagerness swelled in his voice. Just the thought of running as a wolf with Logan was overwhelmingly good. The funniest part of that, Moon reasoned to himself, was that he couldn't even remember his time as a wolf. But he was sure having Logan around would help him and the wolf that he could feel inside of him leaped for joy at the idea.

Moon dropped his hand so that he could touch Logan's hand. "I like it so much when you touch me." There was no filter on Moon's mouth. He spoke immediately what was in his head if it had the urge to come out and be known.

Logan glanced down at their hands before he stepped closer and smiled. He lifted his gaze back up to meet Moon's eyes.

"I like that you aren't afraid to tell me what you like," Logan replied as he pressed Moon against the counter a bit and leaned in to steal a quick kiss. He kept it brief, not wanting to tempt fate too much, then he pulled back. "Do you think you'll meet anyone else in the pack that you'll like more than me? Or... Anyone at all?"

Moon tipped his head, curiously. He couldn't imagine why Logan would ask such a question. It sounded sad, almost. Moon frowned. "How could I like someone more than you? You saved me and you smell so good." As if Moon couldn't possibly turn down someone who smelled as wonderful as Logan. "I don't know how you don't stay in bed all day just sniffing yourself." He grinned wide and leaned forward to press his nose against Logan's skin.

"I haven't met many people. They don't come down to see me. Jack does. And Wendell. Joshua has been down to see me a few times, but I don't think he likes me much. He feels strange."

Logan couldn't help but laugh at Moon's words, and he leaned in a little closer to the other wolf so that he could press his nose against his shoulder. He closed his eyes and just relaxed, enjoying the nearness of someone he had a connection with. Moon spelled quite nice, too.

"Joshua's just... He and I sort of, we have some issues. I found him too, but we don't exactly talk or get along too well," he mumbled. Sometimes they got along too well, though. He hated that he wanted someone he couldn't have, but that feeling was fading away thanks to Moon.

"What did he do to make you mad?" Moon could smell an emotion on the other wolf, feel it in his bones, but he wasn't nearly experienced enough to pick up on its finer nuances. So he interpreted it as anger. "I don't want to do the same thing." It was logical to Moon. If he could avoid repeating Joshua's mistakes, then maybe Logan would always get along with him. He wanted to think that they would never have problems like that.

Logan offered a shrug of his shoulders before he straightened up and opened his eyes. He dipped his head forward so that he could let his forehead rest against Moon's, and he rubbed the tip of his nose against the other wolf's, just nuzzling him a little bit.

"It doesn't matter. He's still pack. We'll be fine eventually," he said softly. And he really hoped that he was right. "Julian thought you were a mean dog when he first saw you, you were a wolf and you were going nuts in that cage. I bet he'd love you now."

Hunter had mentioned that there were little ones around and that was one of the biggest reasons he was being kept so securely under lock and key for now. He understood it. "The kids in my neighborhood always had so many brothers and sisters. In Mexico, a big family is what everyone has, but I didn't. It was just me and my parents. Do you really think he'd love me? He wouldn't be scared?"

It was easy to see how much he liked the idea, his face brightening even more. "I'm glad I don't remember scaring people. Or doing whatever else I might have done."

"Julian's a lovebug," Logan said with a faint smile. Even though he and Joshua weren't really talking, Julian didn't seem to notice and he would jab away at Logan sometimes when he was at the mainhouse. The kid was just sweet "I'm sure he'll love you, he loves everyone. Plus you're the type who'll like... play with him, and talk to him, so he'll definitely love you," he assured as he gave Moon's hips a squeeze. "Do you think it's interesting you are what you are, considering your name? I do."

The squeeze against his hips made Moon go closer. It seemed like the boy would be readily willing to crawl on top of Logan at any moment. Closer, closer, closer. That was almost all Moon could think about until Logan posed his last question.

"My name, Moon?" he laughed a little. "Maybe it was fate that I was bitten then? Remind pregnant women not to name their children Wolfie, or Fuzzy." He teased in a clunky sort of way and then stopped. "Not that am not happy with how this all might turn out. I thought I would die, but now I'm glad."

Logan lifted a hand to let his fingers gently card through Moon's hair, and he smiled softly as he leaned in to steal another quick kiss. He pulled back and wet his lips, liking the scent of Moon all around him. He loved the boy's boundless energy and the way he smiled.

"I am too," he agreed, "I'm glad I found you."

Now that Moon was safe and sound, and doing so well, Logan couldn't imagine life without the boy around. It was strange, but he very much liked the comfort and connection he felt from the other wolf.

Moon couldn't resist and wrapped his arms around Logan to kiss him like he'd seen in movies. It wasn't quick, or chaste, though it was a little clumsy because Moon hadn't ever done it before. He stood on his tiptoes, trying to press as much of his body as he could against Logan's. He wanted to say thank you for being so nice, and giving him food, and bringing him to this place. The cage wasn't so much a cage anymore as it was a safe place, where it never rained and homeless people didn't chase him with broken bottles.

The kiss was wonderful at first, his mouth parted to invite Logan inside. But soon enough, his wolf was rising in a tidal wave, clamoring up to get in on the action. Moon gasped, fear sparking in his eyes as he pulled away. "I'm sorry!" he blurted and covered his mouth, backing up, trying to get the urge to shift to stop.

Logan parted his lips to kiss back, even though he knew he shouldn't have, and he pressed in even closer to Moon. When he felt the boy's wolf, though, he broke the kiss and gently let Moon go before he reached out to take his hand.

"It's okay," he told Moon softly. "Just breathe, take a minute to focus on the feeling and just... Push it down, you know? Felix is right in the other room, he won't let anything bad happen, okay? Do you wanna go downstairs?"

Logan's voice helped him feel more calm. He listened to it, focused on it as hard as he could. It felt like he was being led out of the dark toward something warm and perfect. Sucking in a breath, he nodded. Downstairs felt safer and it was good timing too because Felix popped his head back inside.

Looking between the two of them, he noticed Moon was out of breath. "Really guys? Twenty minutes alone?" He grinned chidingly. "Going back to your room then?" He asked Moon, who nodded. He liked it when it was called his room and not a cage. Wendell had been hauling things downstairs to make it more homey as well.

When Felix popped his head into the room, Logan couldn't help but look a tiny bit sheepish. He took a hold of Moon's hand and led the boy to the stairs so that they could slip down into the basement, and once they were inside the cage he sat down on the bed with Moon. He still kept a hold of the other wolf's hand and he looked around.

"Wendell keeps bringing stuff down here, doesn't he? Soon this place is going to have drapes or... Something," he smiled.

As positive and light-hearted as Moon usually was, he was worried at the moment. Even the mention of Wendell didn't brighten his spirits. Instead, he just nodded at that. Wendell was a very nice person and Moon very much appreciated the added comforts he'd bestowed upon the room.

But at the moment, Moon was still struggling to put down his wolf and worse yet, the urge to kiss Logan was still there. He leaned into the other boy, pressing his cheek into the side of his chest. "What if I can't ever kiss you without going crazy?"

When Moon leaned in against him, Logan wrapped an arm around the boy's shoulder and rubbed his hand up and down along his back.

"You will," he assured, "Trust me. I couldn't kiss someone for a while either. You just have to get the hang of it, that's all. It's all about learning how to seperate your emotions from your wolf. I mean, we can't ever fully do that, but we can gain control. Know what I mean?"

"I think about more than kissing you," he said softly. He could never keep such a big thing from Logan. He wanted him to know exactly how he felt about him. No secret. He just hoped that the boy felt the same way about him. Sometimes, he didn't know for sure. It felt as if there was something holding the other back. Then again, they'd really only just met.

He bit his bottom lip, shutting his eyes as he waited for a response.

Logan shifted to lay down, and he pulled Moon with him so that they could snuggle beneath the blankets. He closed his eyes and sighed, very much enjoying hearing those words from the other boy's mouth.

"I do too," he whispered, "With you. But we need to wait until you're ready," he added. And until he was, because he wanted to be there one hundred percent in the moment with Moon, and he didn't want to have anyone else on his mind. Moon deserved that, and Logan felt he could fall for the boy he was holding onto.

That was an incredible relief and Moon's body relaxed down into Logan's. They would wait and Logan seemed okay with that. "Do you think Hunter would let you sleep in here tonight?" He asked, snuggling closer to the warm body that was Logan. He squirmed a lot, but it was only because he wanted to get as close as possible to the other.

"Yeah, I'm sure he will if he takes you for a run first," Logan assured as he pressed his nose in against the top of Moon's head.

He loved the way Moon smelled, and the way he felt. Most of all he loved how at ease he felt around the other boy. Joshua was the farthest thing from his mind as he held onto Moon and thought about spending the night with him.

"He'll just say we can't do anything, you know," he added, smiling a little. "To provoke you."

A run with Hunter sounded good. Moon, of course, didn't remember them, but he knew that he always felt so much better afterward. And if he could come back to Logan in his bed, well, all the better.

He fell silent for a little while, just nuzzling against Logan with a warm sigh. Then a thought occured to him. "Do you have sex when you're a wolf? Do we do that? Can a werewolf have a baby? Is it a puppy?" He burst with questions.

All of those questions pulled a soft laugh of amusement from Logan's throat, and he gave Moon a tiny squeeze as he settled on his side so that he could face the other boy.

"Yes, you can have sex while you're a wolf. Yes, a werewolf can have a baby with a woman. It's like a normal baby, we usually don't have our first shift until puberty unless we're pure blood like Hunter and Austin... Or there's some hidden line of it, maybe, I'm not sure. Wendell was talking about that the other day because Julian and Jeremiah shifted, but they're not exactly directly full blooded. But there's gotta be a reason they shifted, that just doesn't happen normally."

Moon squinched up his face, considering what it would be like to have sex as a wolf. Even though he couldn't recall what anything was like as a wolf. He really wished that his memory would kick in soon, but Hunter was exactly forthcoming on when that was going to be.

"Is that how you came to be a werewolf? You were born one? Do you know your mother?"

"Yes, I was born one. No, I didn't know my mother. Our kind... We have to be very careful with our secret. If a male is born, we usually have to take them to live with the pack," Logan said softly. "That way we can teach them and show them what it means to be like us," he added as he tangled his legs up with Moon's. "You're a fast learner, you know."

Not as fast as Joshua, but Joshua had known what he was all along. Moon hadn't had that advantage.

"It doesn't feel fast enough," Moon whined just a little. Usually, he didn't indulge in self pity, but he took a moment to pout at the fact that full control wasn't coming overnight.

He was quiet for a moment and then he looked up at Logan. "Joshua showed me the tattoo you did for him. My father had a hundred tattoos." He spoke about the man in the past tense and that felt weird, but appropriate. That was his old life. "It's really beautiful."

Logan smiled softly, and he chanced a soft kiss against those plush lips before he pulled back and tucked some hair behind one of the boy's ears.

"Thank you," he mumbled softly. "I could tattoo you, if you wanted," he added.

Despite the fact that Joshua had been mentioned, Logan hadn't seemed to notice all that much since he was so close to Moon. He loved looking at he other boy.

"You know what I think is really beautiful? You," he added with a cheesy grin.

"Does it hurt? Papi used to say that it only hurt if you didn't drink enough tequila. Do you give the people tequila?" He grinned because part of him knew that his father's stories were tall tales, but as a boy he'd believed them whole heartedly. It occurred to him that he really wasn't a little boy anymore and part of him was sad to realize that.

The compliment made him push his hand against Logan's chest. "You're funny."

"It hurts a little bit, yeah," Logan said honestly, finding it utterly adorable the way Moon said 'papi'. He squeezed the boy's hip and closed his eyes as a yawn escaped him. "It's not too terrible. We have a high tolerance for pain, you know? And we heal pretty fast, too. Would you want a tattoo from me?" he asked, opening his eyes again with a smile. "Maybe my name so everyone knows you're mine."

"I am yours," Moon said with emotion behind it. His heart was definitely in Logan's hands now and Moon wasn't afraid at all of being that vulnerable to the man. "If you want to tattoo your name on me, I would like that. I would also like a Pisces symbol on my foot." His family had been very into astrology, and that had been part of Moon's name as well.

Logan very much liked hearing that Moon was his, and he smiled as he nodded his head and swept his fingers through the boy's hair. "Deal," he said softly with a half smile as he rolled onto his back again and tugged Moon half ontop of him so that he could hold onto him. "Whenever you're able to be out on your own with me we can get it done."

When Hunter came downstairs to check on him, he would ask if they could go for a run so that Logan could spend the night with him. But for that moment, he simply relaxed and enjoyed the connection they were sharing. He shut his eyes and focused on what it would feel like to not have to come back to the cage at night and to be free.

Logan was comfortable, too. He stretched his legs out and a big yawn escaped his lips as he closed his eyes. Eventually, he wanted to take Moon to Seattle to live with him while he worked at the shop, and they could spend his days off at the haven. It sounded perfect, and for once, Joshua was the farthest thing from his mind.
